Well these pretty much are that, except Comp is rather slow on delivering them, mine will be factory drop shipped apparently.
7.425's? link??
Anyway, back on topic.
No pushrods yet, they are on b/o till next week (******* odd ball size) aside from it sound like a small diesel under hood and leaving some nuts on the table it works ok. ...
Waste of gas.... They make parts for them and can be fast, but big bucks.
Big deal if you need to swap over accesories or intakes...
Still no push rods yet... ******* thunder racing....
Mike, all you need is a long block, all your 5.3 stuff swaps over, even the computer will work.
Mike you strike me as the type of guy who likes low end muscle and want something quick stop ligh to stop light... That 5.3 will never give that w/o a maggie or the like. Its easier and cheaper to...
A converter that would actually make a difference is gonna hinder towing ability....
Well this cam seems to have reversed roles vs the stocker, low end is softer and high end charge is better. Im sure it would be pretty pultry in a truck down low.
Mike you need a 6.0L swap and...
ive got 7.400's in it now. needs 7.425's
No. Its an 01' LS6 cam, they are a fair amount hotter duration wise than an LS2 cam.
Well according to a book i have, they gain like 52hp on a LQ9 6.0 at the motor.
On the ass-dyno it gained everywhere through out the power band.
Even with the sloppy valve train tanking some the of torque, it ignites the tires now pretty handily on a 1st gear down shift @ 40
Well it works! I think its gonna need some longer pushrods (ls6 cam has smaller base circles due to longer valve stems) but none the less you can really feel the difference all over the power band....
Its hard to see in the pic but the duration is noticeable larger on the LS6 cam when looking at how wide the arch of the lobe is compared to the stock one. People gain about 30whp on trucks doing...
Finally got around to installing an LS6 cam in the Monte... Had to have my buddy Brad zip loose the crank pulley bolt for me today when it was in earlier for some warranty work:)
Basically this...
