Of course if this turns out to be a fluke, I will be pissed. The header leak could just be so loud that I don't hear the other one.
The reason we didnt notice it was because it at the very end of the header right underneath the alternator, which we worked around the whole afternoon and just never bothered to look there. Just...
I was coming back home from Mike's in Oak Creek and the noise got so horrible, more like a pounding. I safely got the car home and just parked it for the night and came out this morning and it...
Well initially my uncle and i took off the belt and it still made the noise, never tried free turning a pulley. added to the list of shit to try out i guess, haha.
If the clutch isnt engaged and its in neutral when revved and it makes the noise, could that still be it?
Where is the throwout bearing located?
My uncle did one of those tests and he really didn't find anything abnormal.

Here is the noise.
Nightmare - I tried messing around with the tubes and fittings and just nothing, unless I...
Well after someone suggested it the next day I checked it and the noise wasnt there but I checked it just today and have been for the past 2 weeks and its there, definetly not the AIR valve.
There is a noise an am unsure what it is.
And thanks Greenbandit.
I posted this in the GM Forum before and get some suggestions, but I have been unable to solve the problem short of replacing my headers and opening up the valve cover and anything to serious. I...
Problem solved - There is a small exhaust leak coming from the small metal tube connecting the header to the AIR check valve. Laaaaame.
Yeah my uncle hardly believes its anything inside the block and the engine runs perfect, oil pressure is even really good.
Hopefully its something as simple as the AIR. Everyone at LS1Tech thinks its a rocker arm or a push rod. :crying
I have LT's to but since they hooked right up my uncle and I just did it. I have the longtube ceramic coated Pacesetters.
A.I.R., thats the knobby thing thats connected to the header by a hose right or the small metal tube.
You think I should take off the belt and see if the noise still persists?
This noise started occurring last night at Hwy 100. Sounds like it could be the alternator even though it is new.
