Heh, a 3 letter domain? Good luck getting "A" 3 letter domain let alone the one you actually want.
Every single 3 letter domain combination on the internet is taken, and they usually go for $1000 minimum at auction.

Yeh. I tried getting a four letter .com domain. People want big money for that crap. Freakin domain squatters! I ended up settling for BCSM.net.

Animal are you sure they're all taken? I did some quick math and came up with something close to 1 billion possibilities and that's before I tried figuring out the alpha/number combinations.

Er.... 1 billion? Did you try some slightly-longer-than-quick math?
It's only like 15,600 dude (for letters only)!
add in numeric digits and it's like 29,000 some. (35 things taken 3 at a time when order matters)
I guess one could add in like, all of the top level domains available, but even if there were 1,000 of those, that's not a billion let alone "billions" either.
By definition:
r objects taken from a pool of n objects when order matters:
(n!) / ((n-r)!) = # of permutations
26! / 23! = 15,600.

Heh I took all that math in college, I gotta find all the excuse to use it... sure as hell wasn't for network administration :goof

That's the problem right there -- I never went to college. Blast!! :(
Silly me was using 26^3 for the alphabet (plus the - and whatever else they allow) and then factoring in the 0-9 numbers or something. I was way off!

I didn't factor in special characters, but it probably wouldn't shift it much... still in the thousands I'm sure.
