I REALLY wanted to go but for the third or fourth year it didn't work out. As far as I know that is the ULTIMATE 'heads up' street car event in the country.....

Just a few observations from my point of view......

1.) It looked more like a wheelie contest
2.) I think someone spilled a beer on the right side of the track about half way down
3.) Does everything have a freaking turbo?
4.) and DAMN! that's some fast SH*T

Thanks for the vid, I'll be there FOR SURE next year.....

I love that black Rambler 4 door with the SBC and turbo that was also in the Hot Rod PGD.

Wow, awesome vid! :wooo It's too bad gld can't attract an event like that. I'd love to see GLD host any event other than big block nitrous muscle cars.. I even made a post on the GLD messageboard with (what I thought) was a brilliant idea, I even offered to put up a purse, but nobody responded. http://www.greatlakesdragaway.com/gldforums/showthread.php?t=2356

I think the core of the issue is - nobody around here builds or has cars like that.

7 second turbo street cars? What are they doing with them if they aren't bringing them to GLD or RSD?

there are only a COUPLE 7 sec turbo cars there, and they are by far NOT street driven like you wanna think they are. it's the whole "street car argument".

but there aren't many 7sec outlaw drag radial cars to begin with anyways. what i was saying, was there is ALOT of "street legal" 10.5" tire cars that would fit the mold of what those rules were trying to accomplish. and whether they be 7sec to 9sec like how some of those classes are spread, it'd be fun.

like this part of the rules for EZ street:

Tires: .Drag radial only max size 325 or 295. ONLY
max wheel size 12 inches in width . THE RADIAL TIRE SIZE 315 IS NOT ALLOWED
