View Full Version : Stupid driveshaft, what the pooper

Finally pulled the driveshaft out of my 62 cadillac to replace the u joint on the rear, but came across the Driveline center support being ****ED. Thing is seperated all the way around in the middle.

Problem is, NONE of the local yards have any old cadillacs and they do not sell or make these parts that I can find online besides one website that looks sketch as hell, and they want 150 bucks for the damned part.

Any idea where I can find one / have one made?



Top line, 3rd piece from the right is what is ****ed. The rest of it looks rough too, so I'd like to replace everything in that section if possible.

I have been to a junk yard out by johnsons creek that had a ton of old cadillacs. Its called jacks auto ranch. Its out in the middle of know where, but there had to be almost 100 cadillacs, half from the 50's and 60's.

They got one, 125 bucks for the entire driveshaft for a coupe. Maybe I should do that? Hrmm

yes the guy has alot of old cars and he can be a HUGE asshole at so be careful i needed a 74 chevy bumper and he told me 50 on the phone i got there and the clean one he wanted 125 for it and then this rotted POS was 50 :wooo so just be careful dealin with him

Took an hour to get there, and he was sketch as a *****. I stopped down by A-1 and they are hookin me up, gonan clean up the shaft, grease, new rear u joint and the center bearing, 130 ish bucks :thumbsup
