Well I figure it'd be fun to kinda do a build update every once in awhile. I get asked all the time what's going on with the car. Half the time it changes as i am telling people. So this time, we are just gonna let the pics speak for themselves. So here's the first set of pics and just some interior shots in case anyone hasn't seen them and wanted to.

More like you took the phone books out that you sit on so you can see over the steering wheel.... :shades

WTF...I thought you had a bar in the car?.... :confused

nope, reason why i didn't get it ready for KOTH, could only afford the 6pt right now and i hate doing things twice and affecting the 10pt install. AND another reason why i didn't run it more at the track. got lucky and made a couple of passes and had a friend pick up the slip. tint and night time make it hard to see inside, hahha

and yes, i'mparting EVERYTHING OUT. everything LS1 related in the car, but i'm keeping the suspension and the rear end that i have. i just spent some money on the gear swap, so i have to keep it and it's getting narrowed.

but the engine, trans, converter, shifter, headers, exhaust, computer, wiring harness, etc... all getting parted out. even the gauge cluster is coming out for some custom stuff. i got to relocate the gauges i currently have anyways. make it better looking.

If this stuff is getting parted out, mind me asking what the plans are for whats going back in? :D

Swapping to the LT1 I see. You can only go so far on the LS1, then you have to suck it up and get the good motor. :rolf

Seriously, pretty cool setup. Is it a big secret what you ran before all this?

If you're really getting rid of the LS1 I say the best idea is to put in a forced induction stroked (400+inch) small block chevy.

Not a big secret. I never got it's full potential out of it. Too many "half assed" things like the stock LS1 intake(not even an LS6) on it with stock throttle body and MAF on it, which the 382 never liked. it never got down to the weight i wanted it to be (3000-3100) it was 3400 w/ me in it. and only got to run it on the 75 shot.

I thought about doing an LT1, but for the same price i'd rather just stick with the LS1.

So for now, it's just concentrating on getting everything OUT of the vehicle, and then worry about what's going in after that.

how about one of those zz 572 crate engines? I would like to see a big block stuffed into a 4th. gen. It would have to be the 720 hp version though.

Formy doesn't know anything. :)

The tranny in my car was built and it lasted for my 10 second passes. The same combination lasted a long time running 9.9x N/A in another LS1 drag car.

I heard it went 9.5's on nuts.....radials......and pump gas....oh ya and his 300lbs girlfreind was also in the passenger seat..... ;) I also heard it should run low 9's with a dyno tune.....and probably 8's for sure with slicks...... :alcoholic

That's different than what I heard: 9.30's @ 170 MPH on the STREET TUNE with regular 87 octane unleaded, 2 PSI boost, easy launch, HEAVY ass front wheels, short shifting at 3000 RPM, shutting off before the 1/8 mile.... yada yada yada http://warrifles.com/forums/images/smilies/em118.gif
