I was just wondering how much the ticket for no cat is. I heard that it is over $1000. Not sure if that is true but if it is makes me kindda want to put a high flow cat on my car.

I've heard its over $5000, something like a pollution ticket or something.

I've never heard of anyone getting one though, be sneaky, hollow out your cat and weld it over your exhaust and put the head shield on it, looks like theres a cat but there really isnt... then they wont think twice, just tell em you got a loud car.

Or better yet, if you put mufflers on your car (dont think ive ever seen anyone with mufflers on an SRT4, you could just say those are loud :shrug:

Don't Ask, Don't Tell, would be my advice..... and definitely don't plan on taking it through emissions without a cat.

Honestly most 'ticket writers' won't know what a 'cadillac' converter is in the first place......

took mine threw emmisions with no cats.. no problem at all.. as long as the check engine light is not on for 96 and newer cars it will pass..

I was stupid and flashed the car right before, (computer could not read anything) so they sniffed it and got readings off the scale. Moved location to up north = No more emissions. It is up there most of the year anyway for storage.

So what your saying is I shouldnt be freaking out. I suppose there are alot of us with no cats on the cars. I am going to register the car up north before emissons anyway

Yeah don't fret, if they ask, tell em you got a cat, you "must have a leak somewhere", that is, if they say its too loud or something, its HIGHLY un likely they they'd even ask anything about a cat, I got pulled over for too loud exhaust when i was running open header, and he didnt ask if i was running a cat, he just told me my muffler was too loud, and gave me a defective exhaust fix-it ticket. and that was a state trooper, and he was a **** on top of it.

Your chances of a cop finding out you have no cat, are slim and none.
