what do you guys think I will run in the 1/4mile???

my truck is heavy: "8050lb" :wow

325hp/600ft-lb stock

TST level 6 power = should be extra 85-100hp
TST level 5 torque = should be extra 170ft-lb or so..

16.0s???
15.5s???

with the stock trans.................mid/low 15's with a modded trans/converter low 14's. 4wd launch is a must. Stock exhaust? If so watch your EGT's/turbo. IIRC you don't have a wastegate to save it.

hey i never asked, why didn't you run in the Hucksdorf Diesel challenge or whatever it was called awhile ago? it ended up only being like 5 trucks, but you woulda schooled hucksdorf(sp) himself

yeah so i figured low 15s to or better yet mid 15s since it's a 6spd.

i might go f250 6.0L torqueshift auto tranny... that way i'll be 6500lb and can upgrade from there... i'll miss my CUMMINS though... nah I'll just do a Cummins to a F250 body swap!!! :goof ;) :D

Torqueshift trans gives up the ghost at around 100hp over stock. The Cummins has A LOT more potential for power.

HuckDiesel said what you mentioned, but instead he says the ford 6.0L head will lift...after around an additional 100hp. now you say the TS tranny will give too!!! ok i'm keeping the heavy cummins... :thumbsup

carbon do you know how my lift pump works??? Someone told me it is regulated by boost, and gets turned off or on..can't remember..at some special rates... this has gotten me confused??? hehe!!! I want to upgrade the pump, but don't know where to start.

also i feel power falling off after 2.2-2.4K rpms.. what do you recommend. Usually for the gas turboed cars i would use a larger compressor wheel and machine out the compressor housing.. usually that does the trick.. I don't want a MASSIVE turbo due to it's BIG lag... thx in adv. for your assistance!!! :thumbsup

The "lift pump" is key on. Runs all the time at the same rate like any other fuel pump. The "High pressure" pump is computer controlled based on load/rpm. Their isn't a durable replacement for the high pressure pump yet. And the stock pump (Bosch CP3) is around $2K new so not too many people are modifying them. As for the power falling off that is the nature of the Cummins, peak torque is shifted earlier in the band compared to the DMAX or PS. And with the TST you are pushing boost well past the compressors efficiency. You could probably use a pyrometer on the turbo outlet for intake temps :wooo . The TST box is controlled solely off boost if that is what you are thinking of. Piers Diesel Research makes twin turbo kits for the cummins in different levels, That is the only way you will get the quick spool up and volume you are looking for. Hope this helps.

so no pumps can be replaced for a good deal right??? If I upgrade my turbo to one size up what is the best next thing to do for reliability??? INJECTORS? ???

definitely a clutch is already on my list... also heard the 6spd trannies hold up very good under boost... :)

thx carbon :thumbsup

The 6sp does hold up quite well compared to the auto. Injectors would be a good addition, very easy to change on the cummins.

carbon: just curious... what year duramax is the best to buy? and why? just so one day if i feel like moding up a truck i'll consider the chevy/gmc market!!! :thumbsup

for now the cummins is staying as is.. i decided to lower my power level so my clutch will last longer...need this truck to last to 99K miles and then i will trade it in for my next new truck... no more 100-150+hp levels anymore.. :crying :headbang
