Anyone remember how Chucky Cheese was in ~1981? I loved that place. Not for the pizza, singing animals (bears?), or the drink....$0.25 arcade games. Galaxian, Donkey Kong, Lunar Lander, Frogger, Q-bert, and etc. Not many places had as many games as them until the place on 76th and Coldspring opened. Go Banana's was it?

We had Showbiz Pizza's in the south. Same thing, just hillbilly bears and foxes instead of that mouse.

I used to love the punching bag and soccer kick games...and the arm wrestling machine! man that was some cool crap.

Chucky cheeses was around for awhile in the south, but I think they merged.

FWIW, they did an article on the bluemound chucky cheeses, and how many parents get into fights at that location because of the misbehavior of their children, etc...cops were called out 4 times in one month iirc.

After about 30 mins of googling I found it...my favorite game. I had no idea what it was called. I just remember playing it at Skate-U all the time.

holy cow how did I miss this post!!! I hate to say it but I worked for chuck e cheese for 6 years. I actually built the bluemound location and opened it. When we opened it, it was the largest CEC in the U.S. since it was built by a local franchise owner that owns Turner Hall and the Tratoria downtown. Corp bought all the franchises out shortly after. sorry for the history lesson. Regardless that location was mint when we opened it.......fast forward 2 months amd omg what a fing hole. Ghetto is a term used loosely for what happend to that store. I gotta say though the pizza there is the best anywhere.

and yes cause your gonna ask.....I was the da@n mouse. :fire

I used to like the maze. I can't remember what it is called, but the area with the plastic balls you could jump into always smelled like feet or urine!

I was there a few shows ago. It's amazing the money these machines are still fetching. Some of them haven't fared well through the years though...

There's a arcade game show/auction at State Fair park this weekend. :banana My brother went to that 2 years ago and picked up a great condition fully functioning "Race Drivin'" sit down arcade machine, that's one I wanted since I was a kid. It's like Hard Drivin' but with 3 tracks instead of 1, including the Super Stunt Track with the upside down loop jump and corkscrew etc., cool 3D graphics and force feedback steering wheel all from back before that stuff was mainstream.

You can buy every last one of them on ebay (I checked). Unfortunately my money tree is dead due to the dry summer. :goof
