When I was coming home at 2 am I saw a station in Hales Corners selling 87 for 2.99/gal when then Clark station across the street was still 2.69 like most other stations in the area. I can understand a bit of a hike with the huricane but 30 cents in a day? :fire

Of course just incase EVERYONE was going that high in the morning, I topped off with some 2.69 at speedway :thumbsup

I saw these staggered price increases all over HWY 100 last night. For instance in Hales Corners they had the BP Amoco "Import Amoco" as some call it , offering 2.99/3.05/3.15 or something along those lines. Across the street was CLARK with pre-gouging 2.69/2.79/2.86 or something close to that.

CLARK = a zoo full of people
BP/Amoco = Ghost Town :rolf

On the way home I found a Citgo offering 93 Premium for 2.83 so I filled the Syclone up. Not as good as the 2.78 I paid for BP 93 Premium on the way home from work yesterday at a place offering "Mondays Premium for price of Mid-Grade".

The weirdest thing I saw was Phillips 66 on HWY 100 near Omegas, they usually have the cheapest gas of all, and they had 2.69/3.05/3.12!! WTF?? It's like they changed the mid grade and premium, but hadn't quite gotten around to adjusting the Regular?

Update I just got a news release:

DJ Katrina 'Cataclysmic Event' For Energy Facilities - Indus

HOUSTON (Dow Jones)--Hurricane Katrina is a "cataclysmic" event for energy infrastructure, with no clear time-frame for assessing how to restore operations to normal, a leading Louisiana oil industry spokesman said Tuesday.

"This is a cataclysmic event," Jeff Copeskey, vice president of the Louisiana Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Association told Dow Jones. "It's an unprecedented event, so I don't think anybody knows how it's going to go from here."
Wow, a cataclysmic event!! I haven't heard that term used since the Wizard of Oz, while performing spectacular feats of stratospheric skill, chuckled at catastrophe!! :goof

I saw that too, I thought maybe I was just tired. :rolf

Update I just got a news release:

Someone at work claimed a 30% increase is coming, but I am very skeptical of that.

There was supposedly a leak of plans to open the strategic reserve and loan some oil companies some oil to keep supply going until it can be all fixed up. They did it last year during a big 'cane according to the article I was reading.

It of course won't stop futures traders from bumping the price tho.

I filled up at shell last night for 2.69. Delivering pizzas, I use about 2 gallons a night and get $0.75 per delivery plus tips.

I just went to Leonardo's in Mequon and got the job there. I'll put my two weeks in today so I won't be delivering to the hood anymore. Better yet, I won't have my managers punching me out early every day.

We did a road trip back in 98 to florida to pick up a car and gas in southern GA was .77/gal.
I miss those days

According to the channel 6 news last night, gas stations can charge ANY amount they wish but they can only make 1 change evry 24 hours and by law they cant change prices while people are filling up. I paid $3.30 last night but my wife said the Philips stationin Men falls was only $2.89 for premium. :confused

Yeah there's a couple here in the falls that were 2.89 this morning. I'm gonna top off at lunch.

This is amusing.

On my way home this morning (2am) it was still 2.79 @ Kwik Trip in burlington. If they hold out for another day or two I'll top off again :thumbsup

Still pretty full of the 2.69 I bought the other night
