Bee, I like the single motor set up..what about a car with 2 power adders? Do nitrous and boost on a built single cam. 1.6L single cam motors are dirt cheap anyways, what do you have to lose? :thumbsup :thumbsup

i've done a few sohc and from experience the heads always lift even if you use ARP's. a few years ago some pro fwd drag dude had problems keeping only 500whp in a fully built sohc. just don't want to run into those problems.. i've already seen sohc give up easily at a bit over 300whp... I may start screwing around with K-series engine soon... hopefully an ALL MOTOR 10-11sec setup... K-series = $$$$ hehe just a thought!!! :D :banana

thicker studs to keep 'em down? i know we do this on the LS1 motors, drill 'em out for like a 5/8" stud, haha

And then torque them down to 110 ft. lbs.

yeah...ive never had good luck with the 1.6 SOHC. i rebuilt my old D16Z6 twice, and couldnt get it to do what i wanted it to. bored it .010 over with JE/SRP 10.5:1 pistons, crower rods, fully built head (port/polish/shave/springs retainers/ss valves/cam), the list goes on...basically anything you could have done to a D16Z6 to make it fast (all motor) - with the exception of maybe ITBs or some crazy custom stuff. ANYWAY...i couldnt stop spinning bearings and eventually just gave up and bought a B16. the bottom ends of the SOHCs just werent designed to handle the 9k revs i was throwing it on a regular basis.
