In all seriousness (spelling, sorry) I love Fieros. They are great handling cars. Yes, the 4 cylinder version had a lacking performance, but a Supercharged 3800 swaps right in it's place!! I even put my 450 hp v8 in one.

That Fiero has a HUGE nose on it. It does resemble an old Ferrari 308, but I'm guessing that the suspension on the fiero is second rate. Yes, you can add some springs and a camber kit, but the gross geometry is that of a cheap production car.

How easily can a v8 be mounted to the tranny of a fiero? I'm guessing that the tranny in the fiero is not meant for that kind of hp and that there are no trannies out there designed to fit in its place with an engine swap like that.

I've always associated 'big wings' with 'ricers' also, but holy sh*t! The dodge daytona charger/plymouth superbird's wings are bigger than any 'ricer' wing I've seen......

Actuly, more like 6-12 inches shorter (depending on the kit), but since you guys know "all about fieros", preach on! ;) :thumbsup

Actuly the suspension is very good on the 88gt. As for mounting the V8, I got my adapter plate from V8 Archey.

there are companies that beef that trany up to hold it.

The thing weighed 2800lbs WITH the V8 in it. it only added about 150lbs.

I have seen the Opel around town, but the one I am talking about looks just like the Yellow fiero in previous posts except it does not have the wing. It did have nice shiney hub caps though. It was even the same color yellow. You just got to love the fake window made out of plastic! :rolf

right, and there was nothing wrong with a stock Civic or Accord. I just dont understand the whole "tuner" or "ricer" thing. It takes a buttload of money to make those cars fast. A cold air intake, wing, and fartcan is NOT going to make your car faster, no matter how many stickers you put on it! And that wing...WTF is wrong with people. You put a giant top fuel dragster wing on a front wheel drive car, what is that going to do besides look retarded!?
Why not invest all of that money they spend TRYING to make an economy car fast, into something that will actually be fast, and not look so ridiculous. Whatever, I guess. (rant over)

(rant over) Not to be an import defender, but muscle cars easily have a similar ratio of wannabes to performers... How many people do you know with "Throttle Body Air Foils", "Cold air kits", traction bars on 15 second rides, Intake Temperature Sensor resistor tricks, etc.? Those are just as bad as any wings or fart cans. A fast car would be fast regardless of any hocus-pocus even if it was running a stock air filter. What about guys who put on larger wheels or wider tires to make it "look" like it's a really fast car that hooks up awesome, except for the fact that thinner sidewalls and wider rubber generally increases wheelspin? How many cars are over-carbed or over-cammed because the owner's imagination ran wild?

The fastest imports (I know there aren't many) are always impressive to me because I know it is very difficult to achieve that. It certainly is a lot harder than slapping in a big block and hitting it with 300+HP of nitrous and being the same as dozens of other cars at the track running combos that have been well-known for 20 years..

That's the same reason I decided to do away with the big rear tires (was going to back half) on my Chevelle. I want a "stock" looking car on the outside, lots of new things on the inside, and a whole lot of power.
