Seller - If you don't know this, you can tell by the year of the engine, if you know that. With regards to the "509" casting 400's... 70-71 is a 4 bolt, 74-80 will be a 2 bolt. :thumbsup

You didn't happen to just win this engine on ebay did you? I was bidding on one just like it last week.

Either way based on what Ive seen on ebay and a few local bone yards $750 is pretty high even for the 509 block unless it has some aftermarket heads on it.

If it doesnt sell and you want to get rid of just the short block let me know, I might be interested.

The engine is a 1972. I got it out of an Impala around 1988. I drove the car back and forth to work that summer. It has a 2 barrel carb. I am not sure if it is a 2-bolt or 4-bolt. I have heard a lot of wives' tales about how to tell but for every "sure way to tell" there seems to be an exception.
