Private Party Value Search Local Listings | List This Car for Sale $16,485
Private Party Value is what a buyer can expect to pay when buying a used car from a private party. The Private Party Value assumes the vehicle is sold "As Is" and carries no warranty (other than the continuing factory warranty). The final sale price may vary depending on the vehicle's actual condition and local market conditions. it's all worth what the owner wants for it. someone might pay it, so let's just leave it at that. no price wars on the board please :)

Dave there are a ton of options out there. John's car is a good car and you know has been taken care of well. Otherwise there is plenty of stuff that fits what you are looking for within a reasonable distance. You could definitely be under $10,000 for a Z28 in the upper mileage area. take a vacation and drive one back :)

KBB is just a good benchmark to start at an asking price. it always goes high. to find the real market value usually the trade-in value is more acurate, which is prob around 14500 on the SS. bottom line is a car's value is only what someone is willing to pay for it

Cleveland Dave
07-29-2005, 07:35 AM
wow i really want this one...

http://www.cardomain.com/ride/789164

he sent me a PM...

it is an 01 Z28 M6. It was bone stock with 62,000 miles when I bought it. The main reason i bought it VS. a real SS is that is showed absolutely no signs of abuse. The current mileage is 86,000. 95% of the miles I put on this car are highway miles. I often make long trips and I live an hour from work. I have never had the car at the track and I have not even bolted drag radials up to the car. It has not been abused. Mobil 1 is the only oil i use.

The hood and spoiler are real GM units that were professionally painted in a baking booth. You cannot tell they have been repainted.

It originally had a black interior but i LOVED tan, so i switched with a guy that had a tan interior out of a 97 z28 that had 20,000 miles. Other than a tiny bit of bolster wear, it looks brand new.

as far as mods...
tinted windows (warrantied for life)
shortened antena
satin black berger panel
stull billet grill, painted black behind it
clear front corner lenses
slp license plate bracket
real SS badges and floor mats
B&M (shortened) with flameball
!cags!
lowered with new shocks up front
hotchkis lower control arms
bmr adjustable panhard rod
17x9.5 with 275-45-17 and 17x11 with 315-35-17 fikse fm-5's with good Pirelli p7000's
whisper lid
thermostat
Texas Speed and Performance Torquer cam (233/233 589/589 112 lsa)
prc gold dual springs with titanium retainers and new valve seals
Dyno tuned by Texas Speed, free tunes for another 10 months or so
rollmaster dual timing chain
since its an 01 it has the ls6 intake
ALL emissions has been removed. This car would not come close to passing a sniffer.
Jet hot long tubes that are ceramic coated
hooker ory pipe
borla adjustable catback

I know I am forgetting some things...but you get the jist of it.

The car needs nothing save it is due for a clutch. I have a spec stage 2 going in it soon and it will be in perfect mechanical condition. The car has never thrown a code.

I also have autotap and cable I will throw in.

For me to seriously think about selling the car I would have to have 14,000 for it. I am perfectly content with keeping the car otherwise as I have simply invested way too much and still like it way too much LOL. I have never gotten as many looks and complements in any car I have owned (even my vette). Im pretty sure if it did sell I would kick myself in the ass for eternity. So Im good either way.
let me know if you have any questions.

Oh and the car has never been wrecked and the perf parts have approx 7,000 miles on them.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

i talked to cuna credit union the other day they would give me 12k for a 00 camaro SS with around 60k.

14,000 is waaay too much for that last one you posted. i don't care WHAT it has, or "how well it was kept", almost having 90k on the clock, it's not worth that much. for $500 more i'd buy a real SS with less miles from John.

yea Seacrest makes a good point that is a lot of loot for an SS clone. It looks really nice, love the way the car looks and it has a lot of mods but it has been proven that you lse your ass when you have a modded car, its just the way it goes. Unless you part it out. Buy John's SS Dave or see if you can get this guy to seel you the car for $12K

Why wouldnt you buy a stock SS? I mean you know it's had the shlt kicked out of it if it is modded and the guys with the modded ones usually want to much and think they are gold.

If I were in the market, I would be looking for the most clean stock SS i could find. Just my 2 cents. :thumbsup

Why do people have this thing like a "stock" car hasnt been beat on? I have seen plenty of people that have modded then beat the snot out their cars only to return it to "stock" and sell it like so.

There are very few Fbodies out there that werent beat on, these arent neons or grand prixs........most of these cars were driven hard! For crying out loud they had 300+hp STOCK, I bet damm near every owner whipped the piss out their car when they first got it. And those that didnt probably still have em in the garage with little miles and asking a ton of $$. If a modded or beat on car is too much then you might want to look at neon, grand prix or prelude :D :goof

If you have your heart set on an SS, just get it for the looks because that's all it is, really. If you want more of a "bang for the buck" get a Z28 for a lot less. They really are the same car, besides a hood, spoiler, and the wing. good luck in the hunt for the car. BTW, if you want a summer driver (don't plan to let it see the snow/salt) I know of a few down here in Florida that have never seen the snow/salt that are for sale.

My 99 Trans Am is for sell, it has 66K miles on it. I don't beat it, it has the following.

T-tops
Crome Wheel
Tilt, Cruise, Monsoon Stereo
Power Antenna
The only Mods on it are Whisper lid, and Magnaflow Catback.

Asking $9,000 for it.

Either way, that sounds like a decent buy.

That's a bummer for me, I have been thinking of buying John's SS for a while just to drive Tom batty and see the look on his face when I bought the identical car!! (we live right in the same area) :rolf :rolf :goof :alcoholic
