It's an LMTV around 9-10tons curb/loaded. Guy drove in, was going, then slowed down and actually stopped then tried to go again. Basicly it sank straight to the axles! These pics are a few hours before the actual recovery. Some moron got inside of it and tried to move it. Thing just bogged (keep in mind this is a 7.2L cat diesel easily making 700+ lb ft tq and has an alison 7spd. (1st is SUPER low!)

Well I got to use my pretty HEMMT with my 60k recovery winch. The path was kinda like an S. It went straight then curved left then right and straight again. Well it was stuck after the right. So I pulled it straight back onto the grass and then it was driven thru the field and back.

Oh here's my toy :)

It's a HEMMT, sports a Turbocharged & Supercharged 12L 2stroke V8 Detriot Diesel making around 1300lb ft of tq. Also has a 60k recovery winch, a material handling crane, and a rear lifter. It's 8x8 with 4wheel steering.

yes
where the pics of the pull out?

Pretty cool, good job Nan. :thumbsup

is that a M984 Wrecker?

ps
do you know what a 2 stroke motor is? how does it work?
i have never heard of a 2 stroke diesel before.
that uses Fuel Injection at every cylinder for Ignition.

a 2 stroke motor FIRES at TDC, on every down-stroke of the piston.
just like your R/C car motors do.

ALSO
that is a HEMTT not a hemmt,
Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck (HEMTT)

how does that 2 stroke diesel work?

Dude, you suck, seeing that really makes me miss doing recovery and playing with the Hemtt

Is that the M984E1 or A1, we had the E1 which was nicer than the plain M984 but didnt have all the LED lights and stuff that the A1 has.

Oh yeah, I still say theres nothing in the world like doing donuts in a Hemtt, Its awesome.

Cool, Our unit had one of the A1's but it got taken by another unit that went to Iraq. The A1 is even more amazing they fixed alot of the little issues like added more air tank capacity so you dont run out when towing large stuff. The LED lights are markers, brakes, turns, interior, ... everything.

That LMTV looks like what happens to alot of people that dont know how to drive. They either stop in the middle or wait till its to late to air down the tires. Either way you end up sinking and once the mud sucks you in you need to get yanked out.
