He was on WICGP talking about that car about a year ago. Very cool. The northstar is an awsome motor.

I talked to him the other day. He was getting ready to fire it up!! He was hoping a custom cnc'd flywheel would work. Seems like a pretty creative guy to try all of that!!

just a typo.

he talked to me the other day, wanted me to come down for the finishing touches and see it breathe again.

been down for two years basically

since SlowC5's mod day a few years ago.

I would rather do LS6, but he's a DOHC fanatic.

crazy story. had the mod day, we ran to Walmart, two in my car, two in his, two in another.

He let his girlfriend drive it, she went got around a corner, BOOM.. blew up the diff.

he then decided, WTH, I'll convert it to a manual trans.

converted it to a 5-speed manual via a '91 GP SE w. the 3.4DOHC & 284

It was down for quite a while back then. got it runnin again for a short time.
Then said "OK, time for a V8."

then shortly said, eh.. FWD sucks, I'm gonna turn that northstar sideways & do it right.

it's nearly done. it will be nuts. Even if it's not the fastest out there, that's making a w-body what it shoulda been in the first place. :wow

SHES FREAKING RUNS.... had starting problems for little while and was in the process of starting a business but everything is moving smoothly now!!!

I still have yet to do the slave cylinder (internal on the 02 SS's), fill and bleed the brakes, tighten and go over the entire car and install exhaust off of the headers to just in front of the rear tires.

thanx for compliments gents..

and the pilot bushing is from a 94 LT1 ;)

So what do you have left to do?

soccrplayrgtp
02-01-2006, 11:12 AM
my slave cylinder was maxin out and blowing seals. So i gotta pull the trans again, do a few measurements and make a spacer to bring it up closer to the clutch. Then I have to figure out my pulley configuration and put those on. annnnnnd what else... weld in my sheet metal trunk yet, cause I dont wannabe ROASTED if I get rear ended.

:) so not all too much but enough to keep me busy and designing morecrap for the car for a few days

Cant WAIT!!

any weight reduction?? I'll kick you if it's not deep into the 13's "stock"

also gears?? Better put in 4.10's. they'll love that 7k redline and Tremec.

soccrplayrgtp

i got 3.42's in it, they'll do me well at 80MPH when I drive around the country this summer. Weight reduction, hmmm, I may be a few hundred under stock, so im aiming for 3100lbs. Stock STS does a decent 1/4 in 14.6ish so I shouldbe 13.5 or so before I put in the ported heads and performance cams/springs. That will put me well into the 12's.
