No its not mine but....
I went with my friend Nick to get his car dyno'd at borchards. Car is a 04 cobra with K&N cold air and predator programmer, everything else stock. He did 3 pulls.
1st pull: 396hp, 345tq
2nd pull right away: 374hp, 340tq
3rd pull after a cool down and ice on intake: 401hp, 348tq
Pretty damn good for a basically stock car!! How good is there dyno? I know these things are strong but holy **** 401HP!!!

usually filter and exhaust can get you around 400-410

In my mind they are one of the most underrated performance cars out there. Had a chance to drive one that was stock for a couple of miles and man was I impressed. Not to mention with a little 'tinkering' you can have a serious street machine on your hands.....

Nice dyno numbers. When you go to Borchardt's to do a dyno by yourself, how much does it cost and how much of a pain is it to arrange?

Car Guy, I agree the 03 Cobra is underrated but I think part of that reason is because they tend to run pretty poorly at the track in stock-ish form for the HP they produce.. There is no question the majority of 03 Cobras run 13 seconds at the track, in my experience. I'm not sure how it can be possible either, but seeing is believing..

A Syclone buddy of mine from Minnesota sold his Syclone and bought an 03 Cobra, he thought they could run mid to low 11s on basics like pulley, race gas, slicks and a tune. Well it turns out he actually DID get times like that, and then he bought a Whipple and ran about 18 PSI and I was at the track he ran, he ran 10.80s @ 130 with it on a very hot day. 17" ET Streets on the good looking stock rims. So I was pretty impressed to see a REAL world example of a friend I personally know, actually achieve the results you hear rumors about in magazines, etc. :thumbsup However he did have a 50HP shot of nitrous... I guess I can't be positive how big the shot was, 50HP sounds like it wouldnt be worth the effort.

Only problem I've ever seen with the 03'+ cobras is aerodynamics, I've watched repeated hwy races of LS1 C5's 550hp and 03+ cobras 650+hp. The out come is always the vettes walking past. The blower whine is very sweet:)

I dont think the IRS are as strong as the C5 units.

Nice numbers though

It was 105 with tax for 2 pulls with wideband...Wasn't hard to setup at all.

I agree but I also think that the Chevys are realy strong top end whether it be gearing or whatever. I have seen a few different kinds of cars lose on the freeway including myself, to LS1s with less HP.

Doesnt weight mean anything? My car weighs 3800 pounds. And I was trapping 124 with the 542 rwhp tune.

How much weight does the blower add?

How much weight does the blower add?

not much...it's all the rest of the stuff they stuff into those things. It's a pig of a car, even more so than the GTO.

Those mod motors are enormous, but effective!
