Im going to soon buy a new system for my car and i was wondering what people think sounds the best. I was thinking about going with Borla. I want something that sounds good but does not backfire and pop when you let off the gas. Let me know what you fellas and ladies think.

Not Borla, sounds like crap so does Corsa both really expensive and not worth the money. You can get a full Magaflow stainless 3 inch cat back for around $350 if you are trying to save money. The true duals sound nice if you can live with everything ratteling and smelling exhaust the whole time you are driving.

Borla all the way, but you will need to install some of the plates if you do not want the exhaust pop with an LT1. They are big for that. You can also install the McCord Borla plate in place of the flat plates and have it adjustable like I did. It is really worth the $90 - $100 bucks.

True duals or the SLP Loudmouth :)

Forget all of that loud, raspy crap.
If you're going true duals and you have room, use Walker Dynomax Super-Turbos.

If you're NOT going true duals, I recomend the SLP Dual/Dual or the Hooker Aero-Chamber. Great flow, without the racket.

Brett is correct. Those are the best.

long tubes, off road X-pipe with bullits, and dual cutouts. That's what I was going to do, but decided to put the springs on so I couldn't go with longtubes. So, I've got mid's instead. Or, just headers, ORY, and a cutout sounds good, too.

If you like the way mine sounds just go for the setup I have. It will get you noticed.
BTW that SLP CM sounds nice, why do you want to go with something diffrent?

I'll link the C5, that sounded different.

Anyways, are you going to have cats?

Right now I have SLP loudmouth with high flow cats then it all goes into the quad tips in the center. The only problems i have are 1.I dont like how the quad tip looks, looks kind of ricerish to say the least. And 2. i like the sound of it on the initial hit but as soon as i let off the gas, it back fires and i hate that. sounds raspy and what not. SO unless their is something i can do to stop the backfire i want a new system. Ive heard good things about magnaflow. But Borla and Corsa are a little pricey. ALthough whoever said the Corsa sounds bad, i have no idea what your talking about. I have a friend with that 427 camaro and he has corsa. everytime i hear that car i begin to drool. But non the less, if i cant stop the back firing somehow, New exhaust for me.

I had the Corsa with the Premium tips on my SS. I thought it sounded like sh!t. It was mellow for cruising, but raspy and awful at WOT. I also had an O/R Y-pipe on it, so that didn't help. Had I kept the car and stayed with the original exhaust layout, I would've gone to the SLP Dual/Dual. About the same sound level as Tom's car when he had the SLP TOTL, without the quirky look.

You have nothing left to rattle. And your nose must be plugged

I'll second that! You could get close with a side-exit straight pipe.

How about cutouts?

SLP and Corsa exhaust was designed using the factory exhaust manifolds and stock cats. If you start changing to headers and no cats it sounds like crap.

I had a cut out on my TA and always drove with it open. I thought it sounded awesome. I have been thinking about having one put in on my gtp and seeing how it sounds.

my votes for an LT1 are Borla and SLP 2OTL. Do not get the loudmouth!

If I were in that suitation, I would spend the money one something else to make the car go faster.

But, many people enjoy the sound of True Duals.

Are you going to keep the cats?
