I went to the Zoo last week with my woman. It was her frist time at a Zoo in this country and it was a complete disappointment!! The entire feline area was closed for construction. Not only that, most of the outdoor areas were being cleaned/worked on for most of the afternoon so the animals were kept inside. I did manage to get a couple good shots from some of the indoor areas though. This is one of my favorites! What do you all think??

This shot was taken w/o a flash or a tripod. I was really surprised to see how well it turned out considering I was shooting in a dark place and just hand-holding the camera... I did no touching up, just shrunk it down to fit here...

(for J, Ben, Andy) or anyone else who cares :goof
Shot at F/2.8
Shutter speed 0.25 seconds
focal length 8mm

I can't believe the cats are still closed. We had a Zoopass last year and didn't get to see them I figured they'd be back by now.

The sign said: "Re-opening Summer 2005"
So it shouldn't be too much longer I reckon.

Mike- Good shot of the snake. You absolutely nailed the focus right where it should be and the ambient expsoure is pretty good. A little fill flash would have really topped it off, but overall pretty good.

Wikked- Got some pretty good shots as well (yes I looked :goof ) I like the bear shots, good ation :thumbsup

Heh, yea those Green Tree Pythons are pretty inactive, they look really sweet but they're pure evil and bite HARD. I know a gurl in Florida who was really into animals, she had one and it bit her so many times (to the point of tears) that she had to take it back to the store.
