I have a 1964 442 that's torn apart, and a 1986 442 which while isn't a muscle car does have 461 cubes of Big Block Olds :thumbsup

As I've always stated...mines not a "muscle car" per se. It's a sleeper, and uses old school tech :thumbsup

A gold, 1976 Plymouth Valiant 4 door. I tell people it's just a 318 with cam/intake/headers/carb when it's actually a 360, .060 over, 9.2:1 CR, a mild MP cam (the original 232/240 Hughes cam wiped two lobes...I'll go to a wilder cam late this year), Fully ported heads, eddy performer rpm, holley 750 DP, a malfunctioning MP ignition ( :fire ), headmen headers. I run an A-833 4 speed (originally had an OD unit, swapped to a cast iron, non-OD tranny) with 3.90 gears in the 8 1/4 housing with auburn locking diff. Built pretty much everything with the exception of the tranny myself, all for a total investment of less than 3500 bucks, including the 350 dollar car :headbang

As soon as I (or someone smarter than me) figures out what's going on with my weak spark condition (VERY weak spark too, I might add) I'll get it to the track for some new times...and then on to carb finer-tuning :thumbsup

Great looking car...Now, I showed you my details...now tell me yours :goof

Hmmmm....That sounds familar...

Is this the low mile Hemi RR that pulled into Oscars last year? You said something like this (as you pointed to a Viper), "I wanted one of those, but I got is this (Hemi RR)". You explained the 'Runner was your high school graduation present. The Viper owner was ready to trade right there on the spot.

I'm hoping you changed your tune and somehow appreciate what you've got. I love that car.

Man, I noticed a real tendency for Buick fans to hate on other brands, specifically Chevy and Dodge, whats the history behind that? Seems a little weird for the Chevy part considering it's still GM? One time I posted on TurboBuick.com in reply to an alcohol injection post and this guy told me to "Take my Chebby shlt somewhere else!" :confused

That's because buick implies old people and old people implies senile ;)

Or maybe they're just stale because they're next on gm's chopping block?

GM should have cut Buick and Olds at the same time....Combine both truck divisions into one truck only divsion and moved the Corvette over to a new Hi-End division with Caddilac....Ahh what do I know I'm old, senile and drive a Buick.... :alcoholic

Hey Keith, hate was probably the wrong word to use. But I know they like to rag on each other. I never see Pontiac and Chevy or Olds and Pontiac or any other weird combos that I can think of - but Buick and Chevy is the one I see, and Buick and Dodge. I was just wondering if there was a neat story behind that from the 60s or 70s maybe.

Yeah I guess TurboBuick has its own share of internet racers.

A good way to summarize what I noticed is that Buick owners tend to be more proud of their brand than some others, that's all...

PS: Running is one thing, raceworthy is another :( What did you mean on your title when it says "it WAS fast"?

I'm not ragging on any one person or group, just talking a little smack......Even to the other Buick guys...... :headbang

The Buick/Mopar thing goes back to the mid 80's, Muscle Car Review did a top 50 fastest Muscle Cars list and a 70 Stage 1 was #1. Well, that didn't set well with the Mopar guys and someone wrote in that all buicks run like they're tied to a tree.....A year or so later they had little shootout, GS club pres. 70 Stage 1 and the Comedian Hemi owners 70 Road Runner............The GS had the Hemi covered by .7.... :D

"it WAS fast".......The more I tune and work on it the closer I get to that 12 second time slip I've been looking for, a few more trips to the track and it looks like I'll have it......

Back on Topic......Hey Hemi guy, you want to go down and play sometime, maybe a BCM old school shoot-out.......

Right now the buick/mopar thing continues with hemi/446-packs/GS's going at it at the F.A.S.T competitions...mopars have the most cars in the top 10 and so on, but right now, Gesslers buick still has the quickest ET's (the hemi still has the faster traps :fire )

The quickest F.A.S.T. car right now is a '68 L88 Vette, first FAST car in the 10's.....He went a 1.68 60ft on Bias Plys...... :stare

The Buicks don't have enough cylinder head to run the MPH like the Hemi boys. Its funny to watch, the Buick pulls on the Hemis for the first 1/8th, a good 2-3 car lengths then the Hemis real them back in. I'm surprised that there isn't a 6-pack car out there running with the big boys. The really disappointing car is the ZL1, that thing should have everyone covered by a half second or more........

70challenger- your dad's R/T ragtop is the same one he had the blower on, right? Is that a current pic? It looked pretty nice last summer at Frame Park, didn't at all look like it needed resto?
A whole bunch of years ago your dad bought my 67 Coronet 500 for a parts car, it was nice too. It had a 440/727, six-pack hood etc.. :crying Back then they where a dime a dozen, no big deal to send one to the crusher.

my old man had a blower on the 67 r/t a long time ago. as far as the resto, the quarters were gettin kind of rough, there was some minor frame damage from an accident or somethin before he bought the car, and the floors needed some serious attention. the chassis was starting to tweak from all of the wicked motors and constant beating so i did a lot of hidden structural work too.

yeah and I pretty much ran out of space to keep them.. I think the street rod is going to be for sale soon and that will free up some money and space to get the coupe done..

The engine is a 383 with B&M fuel injection and a 144 blower. I decided to make a pro touring car, so I redid the front suspension with Speed Tech control arms and QA1 coilovers and a Hotchkis sway bar. It should be out next year witha a 6-speed and sittin on 18's. The pic with the 'Cuda is from the place in Kentucky where I bought it from. Thanks for the comments.:thumbsup
