Gotta love that tunnel hull!!!

On my very long list of things to do with money (which I am lacking), building a boat is one of priorities.

You can build some of these 12-20 foot boats out of plywood, strap an outboard of decent power onto one, and have one quick little boat. Some of the shorter ones are capable of reachings speeds of 35-40 mph on 10 hp motors!

OR... you can go inboard... how fast does this thing go?

:thumbsup Great vid

Boating is a passion of mine. Been on the water since I can remember. Fastest boat I have ever driven was an 18 foot Hydrostreem with a black max strapped to the back. All i can say is hold on. 85 feels like 200 on water and there was still plenty of throttle to go. :wooo

And BlueBullet, The ones you posted are just a little to unstable for my likings.

Your right on the money there,it's hard to tell someone what 85+ feels like on water.

Never thought of that, but you are right!

My plans are based more on building a kayak first, and then a small runabout-like boat second. If I get a job, I'll definitely build the kayak (sp?). For the runabout, I picture something about 15 feet long with a v8 mounted in the center. The traditional light-colored wood inlay is a must!

I used to like those boats they have at the dells. They'd go pretty fast one way and completely whip it around!

Bingo!!!

The only difference is that I want the engine between the front and rear seats. I like the center balanced boats more because they get up on step in a different way than the tail-heavy boats. To me, they feel more stable. I'd like to stick a 302 or an LS1 in one of those!

Well, I have found a job and all that is needed is for me to get the results back from my "drop test." After that, I'll work at Menards.

I also found a source for all of the lumber that I want to use for the inlay on the kayak itself. It is that store called "Woodcraft" which is just north of the railroad tracks on hwy 100 and next to the Tile Shop. I have my eyes on some birdseye maple for some inlay on top of the boat.
