View Full Version : Got intercooler Car blows up on Dyno.

Finally got my intercooler installed and car blows up on dyno. Rod through the block style. Now I am getting a ls1 block out of a different car to use this year, still supercharged but not forged yet. That will come later.

Any ideas of what it was capable of? initial numbers? Causes?

I might have missed it earlier but what were the specs? Blower, psi, other mods? Gestimated numbers?

Car will be on the road in two weeks from today. The guys at Speed Inc. are really working hard to get it done for me. I am impressed with the shop and don't hold them responsible for anything that happened. They warned me that the block wouldn't handle the hp numbers that the car was capable of producing. The stock pistons are good for around 500hp at the wheels. I went down there already making 533hp so with all the upgrades it couldn't handle it. Oh well, back to driving the supercharged LT1 (the winter car)

I was in the same boat as Tom. plan on having the car done only to have it break and then you have to watch everyone else run.

Man...all you LS1 guys are blowing to pieces. It's still not technically summer, so you have plenty of time to put up some competition. Sorry to hear about it Brad, but glad to hear it's on it's way back.

camera blew up on the dyno also. :wooo was next to the block where the piston flew out of. Talk about bad luck.
