View Full Version : Thinking of going back to the GM side...

I'm strongly considering getting rid of my mustang and head back to the "dark" side. I'm considering going with a GTP so I have something that is relatively quick...but also fully loaded and not such a worry on gas and can haul friends around comfortably. I also wouldn't be compelled to mod the crap out of something I would be driving on a consistent basis. I always lose interest in RWD sports cars after i've had them for a few months and the cycle just repeats.

Thoughts, opinions?

I can relate to that. I jumped on the SUV bag wagon when it popped off back in 2000. I purchased a bike (1100 Katana) which was a band-aid for my need for speed. I am more than happy about my decision to get back into the swing of RWD things. You said you won't mod the hell of out a GTP....yeah okay.... :devil

Come on back. It isn't so bad on this side, as long as you don't get an LS1, I heard they are slow.

LT1's are just plain stupid with the optispark and ****, glad to see they are finally catching up now 8 years later after their demise

you can have a GTP with very few mods, cheap ones no less and run a low 14, still get 16ish mpg in the city, 22 highway, hauul people, and its pretty reliable as long as its a series II

BAD LS1

I think you'll hate FWD worse than RWD Tyler, especially with a GTP when u start modding... heavy car, lots of low end torque... big wheel spin. I could be wrong... my 98' Monte Carlo Z34 with the n/a 3800 wouldnt hook for sh!t

You can get better mpg than that, when I actually calculated how my car did on the way up north I pulled 29.XX mpg and the other times the DIC has read 30-32mpg.

Tyler is this post an open offer to trades? I get how you do it now! Keep the car! After you sell it you will only buy another and it wont be as nice!

depends on your mods and how fast you are going........ faster the car gets, the mileage creeps lower. btw the DIC is never right

What i'm saying is I don't want a very powerful car anymore. Not that my mustang was VERY powerful, but you get what I mean. I'm not looking for a car to race, just something that's relatively quick, comfortable, leather seating, moonroof...etc . Ford doesn't offer anything like that except for the SHO, which is a pain in the ass to work on and not as powerful as the GTP's. Did I forget to mention they suck?

ACRTurbo: I need to sell my car first, I also need one with less miles than that. I put on about 30,000 a year on my daily drivers .GM trannies suck, seeing as how it's the same shittastic transmission that's stuck in the crap am's.
