Anyone have a local source for C16 race gas at a decent price? 55 gallon drum or whatnot?

Not interested in any other types of fuel. Thanks for any info.

Called them. they only sell 111 octane Rocket (that's the brand I guess) fuel (previously Unical brand). I gotta look around more I guess.

Any of the local gas station i've seen will only be selling 110 octane at most. i had good luck looking to a motorcycle shop that sponsored a race bike for information.

If you are looking for Leaded race gas, the Shell on 76th and Lincolin ave in West Allis. Nice people run the place also.

Johnny's Petroleum allowes you to pull up to the pump and fill directly into your car, try to do this any where else!

It's called E.H. Wolf & Sons and I do believe they sell VP brand race fuel (C16) there.

Hmm wouldnt mind picking up a drum. Mixxing it 50/50 with 93/4 octane.

I found a good source of C16 (VP Racing Fuel) in Steven's Point for a 55 gallon drum.

Hitman, I called up EH Wolf in Slinger, and they are pricey on the C16, but they also carry Rockett Fuel (formerly 76 racing fuel) 100 octane unleaded for $4.52/gallon. I may give this a shot for street tune and use C16 for the race tune. Doesn't seem like many people around here carry 100 octane in unleaded though...

JRink, I know most of the record setting turbocharged guys are running VP C16 because it lets you run the most timing, the most boost, and it burns the coldest. But it is without a doubt one of the most expensive fuels. I am curious what reason you are seeking the C16 specifically for? Like, how much boost are you running? (If you dont mind me asking). I might try the C16 myself sometime just to see if it's really worth the extra cost.

EH Wolf does have a full line of VP Racing Fuels, Sunoco, and Rockett Brand Fuels.. They even have 100 Octane Unleaded at a 24hr pump (pump still says 76 so I imagine it's the Rockett Brand). I bet if you bought it from them in a size larger than 5 gallons they would give a discount versus gallon by gallon.

PS: A $400 alcohol injection kit was the best $ I ever spent! :headbang

I'm planning on trying out the Rockett Fuel 100 octane for the street (from E H and Sons). I think it's $4.50 per gallon from the pump, or $4.90 per gallon in a big 55 gallon drum (the pump was cheaper for some reason).

As for C16, a lot of the 3/S (3000GT/Stealth) guys around the country have been having incredible results running high boost (20-35psi) on C16 with good timing advance and virtually NO knock whatsoever. I want to give it a shot since I'll be running the same kind of setup at the track.

I'll probably go to E H and Sons later this week and buy a 5-10 gallons of Rockett Fuel to test it out. Their C16 price is HIGH compared to what I can get it for from a friend who's a dealer (roughly $2 per gallon cheaper than E H).

Last time I checked at EH Wolf (which was before this latest major crude oil surge), the C16 was something like 9.78/gal. What is it now and what can your friend get? Racing on gas at $10/gal, I might as well put that money into a Big block conversion and run 87 octane and it would pay for itself in the first season. :goof

My friend is able to get it to me much cheaper than $9.78. But I don't know if that's my price or his typical selling price. I'm also getting a price from him on VP StreetBlaze 103 (unleaded) for street driving. I'll know more tomorrow.

I'll also check what his typical sale prices are too. They're still probably better than E H.
