been happening on the computer at home. it's not the random pop ups that are easily blocked out. these are the "messenger service" or whatever. they pop up every 5-10 minutes. i have run spybot, adaware, yahoo anti-spy, etc... and i run Mozilla Firefox. These pop ups have always been here even when we had netzero. could that be the source of the problem?

:rolf Yep I got no answer. They bother the $hit out of me though. Maybe I should call "the Geek Squad" lol I am sure they look up alot of porn. :)

If you want to get raped, sure call the Geek Squad.
It's someone taking advantage of your Messenger service.

Just turn off & disable the Messenger service.

Start... Run... type in services.msc
Find Messenger
Right-click...properties... click Stop...then select 'Disabled' from the dropdown box, you don't need that hole open.

Nice proffesional looking web page. I was j/k about the Geek squad. My younger Brother does all my cpu repairs and building. I appreciate the advice though. I will try that when I get home. :thumbsup

wikked - you could definately make a killing doing that stuff. I didnt know that Geek Squad charged that much for spyware removal! I will say though that after working at MPC for 6 months, there's some people you do NOT want to deal with for even that amount of money. I've been doing stuff on the side for a long time now too- the extra cash is great- but it really sucks when people call you for every little thing which I'm sure you've seen....
