Ok, I've been noticing that more and more people on here have motorcycles, so if you have a bike, what kind / year?
It would be cool to get a group together and go riding some weekend.... what does everyone think?

I just got my bike about 3 weeks ago, it's a 2002 Kawasaki Ninja 500. I haven't done anything to it yet as far as mods, but the first thing when I get time will be eliminating the rear fender! After that, flushmounts, tinted windscreen, rearsets, clipons, and exhaust!

Well, I've got a serious itch to get a GSX-R 1300 Hayabusa but no bike experience, so just waiting for the right moment... Might be a year or two before I have a spot to keep it and the money and time to dedicate to learning. :sleep

Always the urge to get the fastest bike...hayabusa's make me sick personally. I hate the styling, I hate the way they look. GSX-R 1000's look 20 times better IMHO.

I'm a honda guy, a 600RR would be fine for me, anything over a 600 would be a **** load for insurance.

I have a black, trek 1200. Get's >* gas mileage to boot...and the GF loves the legs because of it :goof

Added bonus is that I get to work as fast as I would in anything else I drive, especially with construction at the marquette interchange :thumbsup

i know, not the bike you were expecting. Used to have a yammaha maxim 650, honda nighthawk, Kawasaki 250, honda cm 400 (first bike, lol 12 years old)...but I've lost the urge to ride....I won't pay good money to ride comfortably 4-5 months out of the year, unless I come across another good deal.

I like the way they look but I think all bikes look relatively the same. It's definitely on the big side which is a drawback. But it's not so much the bike - it's the fact that it's the fastest accelerating (production) vehicle money can buy.. The fact that they are less than 10 grand is a bonus for the attainability of a guy like me.. I guess it comes at the cost of the danger of being on two wheels. If there was a mid 9 second 140mph capable car for $10,800 MSRP I would already own one, trust me.

First bike was a Kawasaki Ninja 600R, than I got a Buell X1 Lightning (I am able to get 20% of a new Buell or Harley each year....connections).

I think that I might get a Harley though, nice cruising bike. I am honestly afraid of my little X1. I would LOVE to get something faster, I probally have the skill to handle it, but a little voice inside my head says that I will kill myself with a fast bike.

I'm looking for a cheap bike. Nothing powerful, just something I can have some fun with around town like an old honda. Something I could pick up for a few hundred bucks and doesn't need any work except paint.

I have a bike. My Bike is a 2003 Buell Lightning XB9s. It has a custom paint job done to it. The bike is painted carbon fiber blue. I have a couple things done to it. It has Different grips, Carbon Fiber heal protectors, Frame pucks, and it has a buell race kit (Intake, ECM, Exhaust) I would be up for a BCM ride. Name the date and time. Weather permitting I will be there.

That bike is the reason I won't ride a motorcycle, it's the only bike I'd spend money on, and I guarantee I'd be in hell within a week. :)

Plus I could get a pretty good base going on my 64 fairlane I've always wanted for that price.

I have to agree with animal here....the hayabusa is death on wheels. Very badass but I would be dead in a week on one! :thumbsup

funny thing, soon as they come out, you could find parts bikes left and right. i did the right thing and started off with a small cheap bike, a '93 Honda CBR600F2. After riding that for a bit, I graduated to a '97GSX-R750. Then when I started having fun with that, i put a big bore kit in it(just like the car, funny :) ) and had at it. I got rid of it because I was starting to get too good on it. We were the guys dicking around riding wheelies down I94. We were safe about it and not when alot of cars were around, but then when you get to the point of standing on the seat and doing wheelies(a flamingo) and sitting on the tank with the feet over the windshield and doing a wheelie, you are just asking for trouble at some point. So I got rid of it. I'd get another one soon. Probably a MV Agusta or a Benelli Tornado. Something that is a very nice bike to ride, and worth a bit more so I'm not tempted to do stupid stuff on it. The next toy bike if I got one would be a Japanese bike, but if i was actually serious about riding, it'd be from the Euro's hands down.

FZR 600. Piped, jetted, cams, K&N drop in, changed the sprockets. Just sits there and collects dust. I don't even have the urge to ride anymore after I see so many riders going down.

01 Hayabusa, just the stock 1.3 liter, besides filter, slipons, and dyno tuning. It made 160hp at the wheel. really fun to ride.

Hahaha Good luck with that Tony..... If you have American family insurance and want to insure with them you might not want to get that bike. AFI will not insure an RR.

I hated racing at Aztlan back in the day, broke my leg there, but I faired better then my dad, who broke a whole lot of other bones on at that place.

I'm looking into getting a 97 Fat Boy this year cause I'm not a sport bike fan.
