Trying to put a group together that is doing it to keep room & board costs down for the round trip. So far Mark (97firebirdW68), Josh & Jessica (WhiteThunderZ28) and myself are in for sure. We are going to start booking rooms in the next week or so. Anyone else going?

I'd love to do it, but since I'm pretty sure my car won't be ready by then, I doubt a Concorde would look too cool on the Power Tour...

You guys ( BCM ) should've sponsered the event. They were offering to pay 250 bones to any local club along with free entry to all participants nd free event shirts to help do security and work the event.

Cruise Control is doing it, and I dont believe they have anything faster then a stock 4.3 El Camino

You dont have to go the whole way. How about going 1, 2, or 3 legs of the tour? Dont blame it on your car not making it (unless it's not driveable now). You'll have a blast! Also you wouldnt want to regret not going!!

Hey, can you guys enlighten me as to what exactly the Power Tour is? I'm guessing it's a long cruise for f-bodies so correct me if I'm wrong. I have a friend with Brandon Drew's old z28 and we'd probably be up for a drive. What are the costs?

C'mon brian, The power tour is a yearly event that a group of street rods "caravan" from one location to the next. Last year it ended in Greenbay, can't recall where it started. But where they end each year is where they start the next. The cars usually travel long distances couple hundred if not thousand miles if you stick it out from start to end. It's usually covered by Hot Rod Magazine.

I was just curious was anyone just doing the 1st leg, to Springfield, IL?
I'm just going to Springfield and then heading back home (Greenfield, WI) and was curious about caravaning back together.
Also what hotels are people staying at? I'll be at the Days Inn in Springfield, it's about 15 min from the fairgrounds.

You might want to make a reservation asap. Here's the # for the Days Inn if you want to stay there. 217-529-0171

By the way are you planning on attending the BCM/MWAS picnic in May?

Do you register your car, or how many people with you. My wife might come so do I register for myself or both of us? Anyone know?

FANAT1C

You register your car for the tour. You register the amount of people for the hotel. :goof
The regristration online for the Tour is more designed for the long haulers. It costs $50 (plus online fees). Otherwise you can just register the day of. If you plan on being at the Miller Park kick off show that'll $20 and then the festivities in Springfield will be another $20. If you want to save $10 just register on the day of.
There are bonuses if you register for the long haul. :thumbsup A couple of bonuses you should get better parking and I believe they still doing the evening meals every night for those registered.

I just used Hotel.com and they gave me $10 off each room because I booked all the rooms through them at once. That saved $60 and prices were decent.

All prices are after extra charges and taxes and have internet available
6-4 Home
6-5 RAMADA LTD SPRINGFIELD SOUTH 69.99
6-6 DAYS INN 57.99
6-7 FIDDLER'S INN 71.99
6-8 BAYMONT INN & STES BIRMINGHAM 60.00
6-9 HOWARD JOHNSON EXP TALLAHASSEE 55.00
6-10 & 11 HOWARD JOHNSON EXP KISSIMMEE 43.00 & 48.00

We have not planned our trip back yet, but I will probably use air force bases at about $12/night

Anyone know what the schedule is for the kick-off show on the 4th? I couldn't find any times on that. Just times for leaving each city.
