I just started playing it. I just got my class B license yesterday and only did a couple of non beginner races.

The only cars I have is The Toyota (Won it when completed the 4wd section in beginer hall.

Primary ride is a 92 Mit lancer evo gsr. with about 390hp

If you sell the cars that you win from finishing and winning events, they can be worth a ton of money, i think that toyota rally car got me 285,000 dollars but i could be wrong, but one of the cars got me that much. Then i bought an Evo MR with 540 horse and an STI with 500, its such a sweet game!

Compared to GT3, I'll keep playing GT3.

Control blows. Feel of speed is nonexistant. handling of everything feels piss poor. Wheel spin is totally uncontrollable

can't seem to kick out the rear in a corner w/ any car and have that carry it through. Handling, I already mentioned but it sucks.

I think it's gay that if you change your wheels w/ the stock tires, your wheels are now suddenly 15" or so, when stock they were 17" (on my IBM GTO) racing tires are 18" looking but only.

I like the tradable wheels, I put GXP wheels on my '04 goat, but then I trade off my stockers?? that sucks.

NOS is kinda neat.

there's too much that I don't like about this game than I like.


To me compared to GT3, there's a ton less "control" of the car, and no matter what I do, my GTO seems to always understeer instead of oversteer.

Lack of american cars sucks, the american release @ the least should have had more GM/Ford/DC cars

I nearly popped a boner when I saw the game has a thirdgen IROC, even if it is a concept.

besides it lags the damn PS2 horribly in load times. A few times last night i actually closed my eyes are started dozing off while waiting.

I couldn't agree more.... for being GT 4, it was a pretty big letdown. I still bought it and I'm having my fun with it, but come on... this it Gran Turismo 4 and it still won't let you slide your rear end out (even with TCS and ASM OFF!!!). I'm sticking with Project Gotham Racing 2 for realism, you can't mod ur cars, but you can do donuts in a z06 atleast. I'm sorry, but if you had a chevelle SS with 400+ hp and u gun it, turn the wheel all the way right, you'll be doing donuts like no other.... don't even get me started with the collisions either, for being a 2005 release there is still NO damage at all and you can still go too fast into a turn, bounce off someone else, and be better off than taking the correct line. Just too unrealistic for "the ultimate simulation" as it says on the cover...

The graphics are a bit softer this time and its harder to find a polygon on the course.

I got me a Delorean!

The cars do lots of pitching and rolling till you tweak the suspension (kinda realistic).

The cars come with medium race tires: so but some of the "realistic tires" for some drifting.

So how the hell do you turn the traction control and **** off?

I had a lot of fun in the RX7 they give you in one of the licenses, that thing loved to kick sideways all the time, yet every other car i've driven drops RPMs like mad when you try taking a turn. What the crap?

As far as sound goes, the v8's sound good when they are stock, but ALL of them sound the exact same when equipped with a turbo/supercharger and racing exhaust. Kinda dissapointed at the lackluster noises my supercharger was making with that exhaust, sounds exactly like GT3. Overall a good game but I feel it was overhyped.

Then again, these cars wont break a rear diff or a tranny on you as in the real world. And since there is no burnout box, what would you expect for some cool street radials to run.

If breaking parts were part of the deal, then there would be a major difference as well as if there was a way to heat up those tires.

I just don't think the dynamics engine for GT4 can handle a wheelstand.

Chris, they game is so realistic! You can change everything. You really have to know a lot about drag racing to even get down the track.

I think it is only for PS2.

BTW, IHRA drag racing 3 SUCKS!!!

Yeah this game by far is my fav game though, you have so many choices of brands of turbos, centrifugal blowers, roots blowers, infintie suspension adjustments, tire sizes and prssures etc...

Got the game on Saturday and been playing the piss out of it. Got the A and B licenses the first day. I use the Nismo as my primary "beat everything else" car. Think I got everything on it you can possibly add. What car do I need to race in the "compact race" under beginner. I've got all of the races completed but that one. Easiest way to win money?

Play the first Special Events race, after you get gold on both races (I did this easily with a lightly modded 05' mustang) you win a 700 HP cadillace cien, you don't need to even touch it. Now proceed to the second one with the Cien and you win a toyota rally car. This car is worth 265,000. Win it, sell it, repeat the process.

On Day 684 I believe it is, there are 4 race cars that show up in the used car show rooms, you can buy them for about 8 million (combined). So save up that money, the cars are sweet as hell I guess.

In beating the compact race, DO NOT by the Caterham, it won't let you race it. I built one up completely and it said it's a special car and it's not allowed to race there. I used a little Suzuki 4WD car, built it up to low 100's in hp, and it waxes everything in that. I've several fully built cars, Skyline, 3000GT VR4, Buick Special, Shelby Cobra, Mitsubishi Evolution, Neon SRT4 (waxes everything in FWD), and a Ford GT. The Shelby Cobra is the only one I think sucks, but the new traction control system really helps out with the RWD cars.

ok..ive been laid off for awhile now. ive played the hell out of this game. the most money making races are the ralley ones. go to special conditions. the first race (d'umbrio) something like that... win those two races. then you win a Cadillac Cien. has 720 hp. then go to the next two races beat them. then your prize car will be a Toyota something ralleye car that you can sell for 265k. you can rewin it too. you just need to clear that race out. i dont like the 5 second penalty thing they added. that is gay and unfair..cuz the computer never gets fuc*ed like me...oh well. i thought this game was cheasy and unfair and wayyy too difficult at first. all i do is play racing games..i dont like the ninja and fighting and war games much.. this is by far the best racing game out right now. yet...im cant wait for midnight club 3 to come out. that is gonna be a good one i hope..
i did win that nike car.. its ok i took it to the speed ring and only got it up to 150 mph top speed. it needs some juice.
