Yamaha RX1....basically a sled with a 4 stroke R1 bike motor in it. They suck on the trails because they are HEAVY. My buddies RX1 turbo on ice this weekend did 124mph in 660' :wow Yoosef, yes they are expensive, just as expensive as cars, but they break more often when you start modding them. PM me if you want to take a rip on one this winter if this **** weather goes away :flipoff2:

Yamaha has always done wild things like this. Just like the old Vmax 4's, they were fast but pigs on the trails.

i actually just test drove a rx1 this weekend. we were up in the up and one of the guys with us had one so i got to go beat on it on the lake a bit, still went 124 mph with my fat ass on it
This is the snowmobile equavalent of a supra. nothing comes close from a roll. and this one was picked so it launch out of the hole real good. Need less to say we were so impressed with it that my dad will prob be selling my 600 and picking up an 06 next season

edit: i just noticed that yamaha just released the info on the 06's
http://www.yamaha-motor.com/products/unitinfo/6/sno/22/435/0/yamaha_apex_gt.aspx

that thing should be a beast

The 06's are nic, but still a little heavy in my book. Yoosef, the new 1000cc sled will be msrp $10k, simons cpr turbo is about $4500. So, not CHEAP for 2-3 months out of the year.

I am going up north on the 20th and I hope we get some snow so we can do some trail riding.

Just was sledding in the UP a week ago. Everyone I spoke to with a FourStroke yamaha had the same thing to say. Fast has hell but hard to use on trail riding. Too heavy, bad handling in turns.

If I were in the market, I would go for a used XC 600 maybe even XC 700. Great bang for the buck.

All I have ever owned is polaris and cat. Polaris seems more nimble on the trails but lack the power that cat produces.

Cat IMHO, has the best powerplants and ranks right up there in handling.
DOO- rotax engines USED to be superior.....series 3 they use now=junk, customer services sucks and parts are always on backorder.
Polaris....needs to get it together fast or they will be GONE.
Yamaha....still too heavy for trail riding. 4 strokes sound like a vacuum cleaner!
