nope, LT1, but Jim built that **** himself, every last little bit. AND he drove it to AZ and back in it's single turbo configuration.

Whoever does it, hopefully they have the persistence to see it all the way through to fruition.. (and the funds to do it complete) Ought to be really awesome! :headbang

I seen a turbo ls1 Fiero at great lakes dragaway last year, the sucker ran 11.21 and blew his engine halfway down the track. The compression ratio was at 11.5 to 1 he said, the guy said he was from Illinois. Kinda stupid to run that compression with a turbo wouldn't you think?

You guys are talking about waiting for someone to turbo their LS1 from around here, right?

I know CrawlinZ was gonna do it but he'd rather have a car out this year and do the turbo over winter next year. His car was being built all last year and only got to be run once at the track. So I know he wants to enjoy more of it. But over next winter, he's already got the plan laid out and the parts list building. Will be a large single turbo. Some custom fabrication will be necessary so he will be working with Tom at OTE Design & Fabrication on it. "Should" fly next spring.

You know there are turbo kits out for LS1s, right?

I've been in the LS1 market for many years. Before that of course in the LT1 stuff. So i'm in "the know" for what is available. The kits all suck. The kits that are out there are limited to what they can achieve. On top of all the problems that exist with the kits are the manufacturer's strange ability to go out of business (Incon and QMP). There are some pretty good gains being seen, but not where I want to be. When I do it, I don't want to be hampered by the same space limitations that a stock body keeps you too. So that's the custom fabrication. Plus many of the kits out there use a shitty log style manifold. I have two ways to run it, using 6.0L truck headers is the most cost effective and have already pulled 1400fwhp on the dyno so they are not a limitation. Of course a set of tubular manifolds can be fabbed up as well. For a general view of how it's going to be setup, check this out...

But "streetability" is semi reduced, but whatever, i don't care. Starting to accumulate parts as we speak.
