I guess when your whole car is chrome, you don't need chrome rims... ;)

I'd hat to be driving behind that on a SUNNY day.

BTW- I have wanted to do something like that since I heard that some kid planned on doing it to a lamborgini after he won a lawsuit (didn't happen).

I wonder what kind of prep work went into that? Can chrome be plated onto bondo and other fillers, or do you think that they used metal filler or brand new panels.

Also- don't do anything stupid with a car like that... you'd be easy to spot!

There are pics of a guy from the UAE with a completely chrome BMW M5. I've seen a handful of chrome painted cars lately. :confused :wooo

You can't electroplate a non conductor. You need something to hold the charge so the nickel sticks to it before the chrome.

Either way the WRX photo is a semi decent photoshop piece. Not my thing, but the M5 might be different in my opinion.

You can't electroplate a non conductor.

If that is so, then how do they electroplate certain types of plastic such as polystrene?

I think it is determined more by static characteristics.

That paint is made by a company --starts with a m ?
its rediculous as far as price -and from what i hear it's not very u.v. stable
so imo its not worth doing--pretty soon the ricers will over use it so that now even chrome is ugly and played
it will be the chrome illusion of 2004 2005 and after a year or two
i might get a sample from a company i do biz with --i want to do some flames with it and put a transparent cobalt blue over it or some candy
