So I'm not too sure if this is started already or not, and to be honest, I'm far too lazy to look :D

So what's everyone rockin this winter???

I'll be stylin in my 1986 Buick Skylark Custom. The "custom" makes it a little less crappy I guess.

Same beater as last year... To be honest, it's actually my daily driver since project Lucille hit a wall and never really finished. Can a car ever really be finished though???

Love that snowbank license plate!!!!

I should've got some pics of mine after playing tag with Bustamove's beater a couple of winters ago. Lol. I still lived with the rents then and my Mom woke me up one morning and asked me if I was in an accident. When I said no, she said "explain this", and pulled me outside. I just started laughing and said "me and Nick played tag last night and he's it"... :D

Good times, good times!!!

My winter beater is my daily driver...a 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee w/ 4.0 I6. Car has over 237,000 miles on it right now and still drives quite well. Features full-time AWD as opposed to a part-time system, Anti-lock brakes, and the recently added snow tire mods...Winterforce tires. It was quite unstoppable last year in the snow, and will be even more so this year.

I'll buy some rims of ebay to mount more appropriate summer tires as spring approaches.

Your cars sound way too nice for beater status ;).

My Cav and Scales Buick are the real deal :D. I know Burgandy85SS(Chris) on the board also has one sweet Buick thats a true beater too.

The only problems I have had was a dead battery last winter, a junkyard trip to Al's got me a newer Farm & Fleet battery for $10 that is working just well still and a couple weeks ago the ignition module/coils were replaced(major PITA on this car) for $30 and a good amount of hours, again at Al's.

The snowbank hunting is fun, that pic was the next day after hitting a big un' at the Target in New Berlin. Some snow melted off too so it was quite a bit worse or better, depending how you look at it. Without any salt down yet I feel I should of kept at least one Monte out to enjoy :(. But soon enough the snow will fly and there will be more snowbanks/piles to run through and over :devil .

It's kinda weird that the farther south you go, the more snow you get.

Didn't even get a flurry in Cedarburg so far yet parts of Texas got a half a foot 3 weeks ago.

bwahahha, i was gonna pick one of those things up for like 500 for the 4wd-ness, but GOD they handle for **** in the snow. the 4wd mine as well not be there. there was a light up skull from the zone as the shift knob on that ***** though....

hmmm, mine has a galant vr4 intake, and a roof that leaks like crazy when it rains on the passenger seat.... oh and its got no exhaust, it fell off on ryan road....that also had an aluminum foil for a catalytic converter.....lol :wooo

The wheelbase on those trackers is almost equal to the width. If you want a cheap AWD, buy my astro AWD. I just figured out where the problem wire was on it. Chances are that I will be able to start it tomarrow.

No winter beater for me. Just bought a set of ASA winter wheels and a set of Blizzak LM-22's for the STi. I'll see how it goes.

Scales

Camaro's not running at all now (but it did). She's covered and sleepin for the season. But that blower will really help the Buick rip through the snow so you really need to give up the visa! :goof

I see my car is getting the respect it deserves. Its a sweet 1984 Buick Skylark. It has been the beater now for 3 years and still going strong. I put about 25,000 miles on it so far and have to say its the best $100.00 I ever spent.

I think my Cav and your Skylarks should race :D.

I got a factory hot rod, A/C delete, aluminum headed, serpentine belt setup.... :goof

I wish I had a 4-5 speed manual, oh well. I'm very tempted to enter the thing in an Enduro race next spring or summer since I'm not sure how much money I'd get for it even though it runs real well.

1990 Dodge Ramcharger... 2x4 318 V8... oh yeah! LOL some of you have seen it.
The motor that I first put in the valiant (pushed it to 14.2 with 2.94's, mid 13's w/ 3.90's) was originally going to go into my Old Ramcharger 2wd with a 318. Had 367,000 miles on the original motor and virtually NO oil pressure the last three years I had it. Still ran like a champ though. My grandfather had bought it brand new in 84 (85 model) to which it went to my dad, then me.

Used to throw about 240 lbs of sand over the rear axle and b/w the front and rear seats during the winter. If you put it all over the rear axle or further back, it just made it easier to lock the front brakes, lol. That plus some wrangler tires made it nearly unstopable in the snow though...or as much as the term "unstopable" could apply to a 2wd truck. Even pulled a couple of friends out of ditches, while the roads themselves were covered in packed snow. Fun, reliable truck though.
