Obviously not many people are gonna let the cat out of the bag on what their new build is, but it think everyone knows what everyone's got anyhow.

However! you can explain as far as you want or who and what your looking to take on :chair:

Scott your talking about the mustang right?

Im just doing simple stuff... More lightening, fresh forged 348"shortblock, new heads (undecided on brand yet), HIGH compression, rockers, more gear, spool, and taller tires, and of coarse the spray.

Same old Iron Heads, Cam, Intake and Turbo. Step up injectors from 72s to 83s or 96s, may swap out the stock headers if someone builds a set that will work. The new short block will have a girdle this time with a stock stroke Eagle crank, stock rods, the old 20 over JE's and some more oiling mods. I think the HP will be close to the same. The chassis kicked my a$$ this year, I think I've go a better handle on it now (learned alot this year), any improvement will come in the first 60ft.....

This last year didn't go to bad, check out the points....TSM (http://www.turbobuick.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=139721)

Keith, how much adjustability do you have in your chassis? Adjustable shocks? adjustable upper and lower control arms? what other options are there for a g-body car?

I've got QA1s, adjustable uppers and a adjustable sway bar, would you believe the best change was the air pressure in the slicks, from 12-13psi to 17psi....

11-24-2004, 01:43 PM
funny, that's usually the case with e.t. streets and not the full slick. that or when you don't have enough power to get the car out of the hole ;) hehe. j/k. you have a transbrake in the 200r4? if not, thinking about it?

BAD LS1
11-24-2004, 01:48 PM
Better get into a 2 step also if your gonna trans brake it, not that i know much about this auto trans topic... but you cant make the hair dryer spin up w/o a load against the motor.

A two step helps if your foot braking it so you don't push through the lights, on the brake it ain't goin' no where so you really don't need it.........

Yes, I've got a Two Step and a Stage Right in it for now, 25 PSI T-Brake launches are really cool....

I was driving over the tires, wading up and shaking them really bad, I just couldn't tell in the car, felt like they were just spinning....... :confused A friend was helping me out, he has a Buick he races in IHRA Top Stock, he's gone a 1.29 60 ft on a 9" slick in a 3400 lbs GS with a stock style suspension.... :wooo Thats got to be one hell of a ride...... :alcoholic

I'll pull and rebuild the tranny in the csx this winter, with a new centerforce clutch going back in. Will likely simply rebuild the current turbo....I may end up deciding to just rebuild the whole motor, in which case it'll amount to a basic rebuild.

The valiant...just getting the thing started would be nice enough :goof

Budget TPI 350 for my LS. Using a 87' 4 bolt roller ready 350 with 88k miles out of a mini-school bus :D. Might freshen it up with new rings and whatnot, not a rebuild though to keep the budget tight. Slightly worked Vortec heads, Scoggin Dickey Vortec/TPI intake and a nice cam. Custom PROM to delete the EGR for the Vortecs, already have the 350 injectors from Scales and just need a 350 ESC module, then maybe a mini starter and better fans. Port the plenum too while its off and maybe some roller rockers. The engine itself shouldn't be much more than 1k total and have well over 300hp at the fly and plenty of torque. :3gears: After all, this is the 2nd fastest car of my 3, can't mess with the pecking order :D. Want to keep using 87 octane for it too, since its a daily spring-fall.

I could care less if people know what I'm building since I'm not racing people for money or anything  ;) . Part of the fun is talking about your build up or mods, so why keep it hush hush. JMHO.

#1 on the list..... Drive the F'in thing out of my own driveway :goof
The project most close to being driveable is my 86 442 with a mild 455 Olds in it. The engine has been in for about a year but I ran out of money when it came to the exhaust, the only headers for the swap are $500 Hookers and factory dual exhaust manifolds aren't cheap either. Right now it has the factory 307 psuedo duals on it. :crying
It should be ready to drive in spring. I'll see how it does with the wimpy cam (.472/.496 214/224 @.050) and maybe put something a little more stout into it. It's a 9.1 to 1 motor, "C" heads 2.07/1.68 valves and my Performer intake will be going on.
It won't be a racer, just a fun street car. :headbang

-lsd upgrade/3.90 gears
-upgraded suspension bushings
-custom long tube headers/bigger exhaust
-mickey thompson drag radials
-new brake pads/rotors

My goal for next year is to have the car trap 125 and I should be close with another .5" in tire height, slightly taller gear ratio(3.90 vs 4.10) and much less restrictive exhaust setup. Not too concerned with et as the suspension will be geared more to road race/autox. I'm probably going to hold out on heads until some of the "big" companies come out with their custom castings and see how they compare with the afr's.

Ultimate Racing Stage 3 STi upgrade.

gt35r turbo
catless downpipe
External Wastegate w/appropriate uppipe
Walbro Fuel pump
785cc top feed injectors
Hi flow fuel rail
APS Dr725 FMIC w/APS intake (black, I do not like the bling of silver FMIC's on black STi's)
Greddy SP2 catback
EcuTek tuning for 17-18psi on 91 octane
Stronger clutch and lighter flywheel....probally exedy.

STi Pink springs and tops, thicker sways, and some stronger pads.

On stock Intercooler with 15psi the kit made 350awhp using the crappy Greddy E-Manage. Guy I know on another forum made ~400awhp with the EcuTek tuned to around 17psi on pump gas, with larger TMIC. Couple of STi's in Puerto Rico running this kit with a Utec and make over 500awhp.

Than, I will be on to the next project of taking all the stock STi take offs and tossing them onto wifey's forester XT.

One day, I'll have big plans for my 5.0, and the next day I will want to get rid of it. I'm aiming for the minor rebuild before I sell it. But iff I do that, I might not want to sell it. But If I am not going to sell it, then I do not want to do a rebuild anytime soon......

The van has got to go! **** I hate wiring problems, the thing wont start!

The Scirocco reconstruction will commense once the van is done/gone

The integra is a good car that makes lots of noise when it is cold. The 140 ponies kinda suck. I'd like to swap a better head on there.

If the van, stang and scirocco go, then I'm going to pick up a mid/low powered car to race next summer in IT or SS.

Well, I am in the process of selling all my stuff. Staying with turbo'd 4 cylinder, but with RWD. Car is just a shell now, buying someones unfinished project, but it's completely painted and will have to put back together. It's in so many parts, there is not a wiring harness in the car. It won't run for a while, but who knows, could stumble into some really good deals...

Well I don't have any winter projects planned since I can't work on my car in my garage (underground parking) so I'm just planning on saving money and buying parts for next spring. I have the motor done to where I want it for now (minus the PROM), but I need to do a lot of chassis work! The front end is pretty much shot and the rear isn't far behind. I'd like to be able to replace everything and get it safe to go fast again. It's just scary now!! My somewhat unrealistic goal it to have everything ready to rock at GLD by June. Bring on the overtime. :(

I haven't gotten it on a dyno since 02. I have been holding off until I finish this round of mods so I can make some use of the numbers and wideban info to finetune the new combo. When I had in on the dyno with the auto it made 329 with the a/f pegged at 10 all through the lower and mid range and went to 11 in the upper rpms. With that tune the car ran 103 at the track. It ran 114 with the t56 and present tune last time out. I don't know for sure how much power it is making. If I had to guess I would say somewhere around 370whp. I will probably dyno in the spring with the new combo.
