Does ne one kno how hard it wood be to replace, or put some new sheet metal in my 1987 cutlass, its rotted to hell on the drivers side, the seat fell thru the floor, its not like thru thru but the supports are, and the seats on an angle now. then i checked under the car and its pretty rotted up, any suggestions?

cut it out around the rust and weld a new piece of steel in there....maybe replace the braces....my brother did it to his blazer not that rough....kevin did it to his blazer too

Weld in some new floor. I'll be doing the same to my 64 this winter. Had some crappy spots so it's getting al new floor :)

well nevermind, thanks for the insight, the car took a major **** so i gave it back to my freind, neways i have a 71 nova lookin for some help

If the rot is too bad it might not be worth fixing unless just to keep the car driveable...severe rot is almost a lost cause if the rockers/floors and a whole bunch else is rusted :wow . But since its a g-body, any floor pan 78-88 works if you can find a good one in a salvage yard(good luck), better luck to find someone with a clean one that is wrecked/being parted out to cut up. Goodmark I believe sells re-pro pans too.

Brandon, you only think it wasnt that bad because you didnt help a whole lot. Yeah it wasnt hard to do but it was a huge pain in the ass.

oh yeah side note to anyone doing extensive grinding/welding inside the car. Cover all your windows with cardboard, the sparks from the grinder/welder will hit the window and melt into the plastic layer and your window will the be kinda like clear 10 grit sand paper, makes it really hard to clean because it shreds rags.
