If you ever want to look into flying an RC airplane, check out the Astro Wings http://www.astrowings.com or the Milwaukee Flying Electrons http://www.flyingelectrons.com/navigate.htm

At either of these two clubs, they will make a good effort to give you an opportunity to try one. If you are wondering about crashing one, they hjave a system that will allow you to fly from one controller. If you mess up a bit, they can take over control with another unit.

Here is a better list of clubs...

Post # 1000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The picture is a bit blury...

Here are four planes of mine. Three are flyable while that wooden skeleton is a P51 Mustang in tha making. The one on the lower right with the orange wing has a 36 inch wingspan and is electric powered. The upper right plane is my oldest plane and has survived since I was in the eigth grade. I only had one minor crash where I brok a wing rib, but I have also lost half of the wing covering in flight and managed to land it. The upper left plane leaning against the wall is a 2 meter glider. I finished it about three years ago. Once the P51 is complete, I am expecting it to reach 150 mph with the engine I am planning to put in it.

Here is the link to the lawnmower page. They also have a tank, car and a witch on a broom.

What scale is the P-51? 150mph?? I went to an airshow a few years back and upon entering the field, something small went shooting across the sky at an unbelievable speed. The only way to descibe it is this... if you have ever been shot at from a distance, that sound of a bullet zinging by you, well that noise coupled with the sound of highly compressed air leaking out of a small opening. Now, after I saw it, the announcer came over the loud speaker saying that it was a B-1 bomber RC JET airplane. I guess he was clocked at something over 200 mph! How do you even fly something like that? You will loose sight of it so quickly!

I could easily see a plane like my P51 up to 1000 feet away without a problem. The best way to do a high speed pass is to do a 30 degree dive up to the area in front of you then fly level. Then pull back when you get about 500 feet away from you as it is the best way to bleed off speed.

I am planning on a 1.2 cu in engine with an output of about 3 hp @ 13,000 rpm and a high pitched prop for mid and high speed performance.

150 isn't a far fetched idea as I have already broken 100 in a much lower-powered plane.
