I just saw an instance of this and had to do some database repairing.

Well I don't know about that but I do know that if you accidentally go back past the "Search Results" in the history using the back button, you are screwed and can't get back to the new post list.

Yeah I hate that; occasionally I find my New Posts list was "reset" and I didn't even log in.. makes me so mad, I have to look at all forums individually and recollect whether I read those posts or not since I was last on..
