WE ARE GROWING! Here is an opportunity for experienced Systems Engineers and Network Consultants to join our team. The primary responsibility is to provide networking/server support services for our customers. A strong candidate will be able to provide on-going technical support services and planning for our current and future clients -- i.e. adequately identify issues and propose technological solutions.

The ideal engineer will be knowledgeable and well-versed in MOST of the following areas:
-Server Virtualization (VMWare/Hyper-V)
-Microsoft Windows Servers
-Microsoft Exchange Server
-Microsoft Remote Desktop Services (RDP)
-Microsoft Active Directory
-Storage Area Networks (SAN architecture)
-Managed Switches (HP/Cisco)
-Routers and Routing Switches (HP/Cisco)
-Firewall and Security Appliances
-802.11b/g/n Wireless

Knowledge, skills, and other abilities preferred:
-Ability to administer and design small to large-scale Active Directory environments
-Comprehensive LAN/WAN experience for routing, switches, ACLs, and VLANs
-Strong understanding of IPv4 and subnetting
-Proven competence in Server Virtualization technologies
-Familiarity with industry-standard Backup Solutions
-Experience with various anti-virus, anti-spam, and content filtering systems
-Advanced troubleshooting, diagnostic and problem solving capabilities (extremely important!)
-Ability to create/maintain network documentation and project documentation
-Ability to work directly with end-users and handle desktop support issues

Personal skills required:
-Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects/multi-task (extremely important!)
-Demonstrate a high-level of detail to all project tasks (extremely important!)
-Be highly motivated and highly independent
-Show excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

We can be very flexible with potential candidates, including options for:
-Full time employment (compensation ranging from 65k-95k/year)
-Part time employment
-Contracted employment
-Flexible schedule
-Negotiated benefits and lucrative vacation-package options

Position requirements:
----Applicants should have at least 10+ years of high-level networking/server support experience
----Working with customers on-site and light travel in the SE Wisconsin area
----Availability to work weeknights and weekends on occasion as required

IT Consulting isn't necessarily the glory job it may seem like. A lot of off hours and weekend shit, every client is another boss, and pretty much whenever you talk to them its because they're having problems and are upset with you indirectly. I don't know how much of this particular listing is internal IT for sourceone versus consulting for clients though either. I just meant IT consulting in general... can be sucky.

If you find anyone that meets those requirements, would you be so kind as to let me know? I'll offer them $10k more, 10% into 401k, 3 weeks of vacation, decent benefits, and no travel. Those people are like hen's teeth. Good luck, and I mean it.

Is that still a consulting job then, or a company IT dept job?

Fortune 500/Enterprise IT.

You can make way more money at a large consulting company like Accenture or CapGemini.

I realize that, but consulting work can be shit too as I mentioned already. I was asking because I have a buddy or two that DO meet those requirements if u were serious.
