Well I sold everything but my stock WRX and the family minivan....needed a project I wont finish:
8304
About as rough as they come less a solid chassis and decent interior. Used to have a 1980 El Camino with a 327 and 4 speed I miss and wish I still had. My last chevy was my 1994 Impalla SS, have owned several GM RWD cars years back. Like to drop an LT1 or LS in with little to no body work, just a beater with some chassis work to handle the corners and not feel bad about driving it thru crap.

Good thing I sold a complete LS and ecm to a member...knew I would need it after selling everything! Sold my old Lincoln to another member, that 4.6 DOHC and trans would look cool in a Camino.

Good kill Russ! All you need now is a mullet and you're set fo' lyfe in Dirty Stallis!

Actually, I could see one of your brush on paint jobs looking pretty good on that thing...

I got a coss member for dual exhaust for a G body metric, new from JEGs. Had it for a project for a guy and he backed out of the upgrade.

Double hump crossmember! My wallet will probably afford a custom MillerMatic mod but if I find some cash I will call you on it!

My right foot found an issue with bed last night, think the paint was all that made bed look solid. Apears stupid easy to pull body, when the time comes I would like to strip for chassis boxing and trailer arm welding before dropping the rusty body on. Just a dream now but its an ez project my AADD wont get my mind too lost in. Tool guy already offerd to drop off a tiny hoist for my garage...another undone project!

If you need an LS, my 5.3 would suit that well.

Wish I kept the last LS I had stashed, you have an ECM to?

My wife may want to sell her 86 442 if you need a parts car with a 8.5" gbody rear. ;-)

I had to read about them, I thought only GN's had them. Is that an LS rear or open?

Open. 84 H/O's and 85-87 442's had them in addition to turbo Buicks. Olds' came with 3.73's and Buicks came with 3.42's

Their are a few that show up at the track form time to time. They seen to hook as well as any other G Body.

Cruising the net today, yah that's a desirable rear end your wife has :) I'll pay and swap my 7.5 into her 8.5, then we sell her car as if its untouched. Win win!

One other option for the smaller 26 spline 7.5 metrics is to get a posi from a late model firebird or Camaro and use the 28 spline up grade and then get a set of aftermarket axels in the 28 spline count and your set.

I've got some slicks with inner tubes mounted on chevy steel wheels if your interested . They came off a El Camino m/t et I think they are 26 inch tall.3or4 passes on them.

I'll be happy if I find a used lt1 car to repower, slicks would probably test the balsa wood 10 bolt :)

It'd be cool to see a modern 4.8/5.3 swapped in...or even better imo, a 4.3/4l60-e combo with 3.08 rear for ubber mileage and pretty decent performance...

The latter 4.8's at 295hp would be pretty stout.

Ever consider just random, non gm swaps? Toyota 4.0? Jeep 4.0? Jeep 2.4 (150hp) or even later 3.8's (202hp) from the wranglers (rwd configuration). Ford 3.8, 4.0, or 4.2 SOHC v6 could fit the bill too. Mopar 3.7 v6 (210hp) or even 4.7 SOHC (230-310hp) perhaps? All rwd drive available and sure to be found in wrecking yards. Sure, harder than a GM swap, but when has harder ever deterred you?

If you do an off-brand swap, just stay away from the 4.6's/5.4 fords....belch!

Maybe a cummins 4bt?

LS1 obviously, LT1 easier and cheaper but I would LOVE to open hood and see a 4.8 dohc Lincoln motor/trans! 300hp and 26 mpg.

If you want a lincoln 3.9, $1000, comes with a complete running chassis and 5 spd auto.

Funny you should post this, I have seen several of the 3.9 Jag motors on ebay. The last few years were 280hp, wonder if that alternator would fit as it sits on engine. Love to see it and measure it while in your car.

4.8L ... are you talking about their v12 from back in the day? lol I'm assuming you mean the 4.6 dohc out of the Mark viii? Continental DOHC 4.6 wouldn't work unless you wanted it fwd.

Mine is the early version so lower power... but feel free. We picked up another car on Sat, so the LS will be gone sooner or later. The engine/trans is the only thing thats really any good in it. Body is junk, needs a clockspring, DCCV, sway bushings, and the rad fan makes a ton of noise (Its converted to electric but with no temp control on the fan and I have a spal 16" I'll throw in for $75)

So I'm serious when I say.. a grand takes it. Driver, with title.

What ford motor had the spark plugs that kept coming out of the head? Or the ones that had the spark plugs buried under the intake?

This 1956 Chevy 210 has a 4V 4.6. I hear that it wins "best engine/bay" in show quite often.

Its official (don't tell my wife) I have secured a one owner Roadmaster Wagon, 1994 model with junk water pump. BCMer has a used donor so with any luck or ambition we should be at opening day with a driver, first time in years!

LT1 is in car, headers installed, slid motor back to firewall and relocated motor mounts. Installed higher stall S-10 factory converter so the 1397 stall is now 2200+. Modified crossmeber to double hump. Shortened drive shaft 3" and installed for the 4l60 trans. Confirmed it does have horrid 2.54 gear, thats next along with hopefully pull the B-body camshaft for an LT4 or better. The Roadmaster tank looks to be a drop in, had a 265lph new pump laying around Im gonna get in tank soon!
