Pickuptruck.com does a great job putting together two big comparison test a year...and try to at least every other year make one of those test dedicated to the HD trucks.

This years test they go for the two biggest haulers...Ram 3500 w/ up to 30,000lbs trailer towing rating and Ford's 450 w/ up to 24,700lbs available towing. With each "equaled up" (made to have the same total weight after loading up the trailer) towing ~ 24,5XX lbs, they hit the high country out west (Davis Dam and Eisenhower Pass) to see how they did. They'd also load up the Ram 4x4 close up to it's max tow load to see how it did over the eisenhower pass (starts at 9,000 ft passing 11,000 ft) and if it's tow rating is a little optimistic.

Like before, neither truck is considered bad, both performing very admirably...good reading about what it's like to tow with HD pickups roughly a 1/3rd of what the big rigs tow. :thumbsup
