Looking for a smaller machine shop who could cut a small keyway in a 1" soft steel shaft.
Its a tiny project under 2" in length, doesn't even need be precision just a slot.
Hoping on a small place for cash walk in work, hopefully in milw/wauk area.

i recommend this master machine co place. a few years ago i lost a dowel for my supercharger bracket. i got a piece of round stock that needed a whole through it for a bolt to make it a spacer. i took the round stock in to them and they said it would be a few hours and about $20. i came back a few hours later and they charged me $10 because they said it was pretty easy to do. so i am sure they take on small jobs like what you want done

I could probably do it for you at work. It sounds to me like something I can throw in the Bridgeport quick. Pm me the details if you want. I'm in waukesha.

I stumbled on a shop next to work, when done they said leave a 12 pack of diet Coke...
I said I cant buy non alcoholic beverages but left $20's for everyone given the speed it was done!
