...isn't too shabby.

420hp, 460 ft-lbs. EPA estimated 15/21 (not sure if that's just 2wd or both 2wd/4wd).

It's now the HP/Torque champ of the 1/2 ton market by 9hp and 26ft-lbs of torque.

What's significant to me is the estimated fuel economy...21mpg hwy from the 6.2 while Ford's 6.2 is rated 13/18 for 2wd and 12/16 for 4wd. That's fairly significant.

The less powerful/large 5.7 Hemi is rated for 15/22 and 15/21 for 2/4wd. Makes me wonder if Dodge will ready a 1/2 version of it's HD gas truck 6.4 Hemi...

Styling isn't for crap.

Really nice specs though, expect nothing less from GM.

Just when I thought the front end couldn't get any uglier....

I was expecting more since the non-DI 6.2L was 403hp. The 4199lb curb weight must be for a standard cab shortbox V6. The weight of my truck stock was 5325.

I'll probably buy one next year.

Not sure what it'll be available in...probably similar to the current non-di 6.2 in that it'll be reserved for higher-end models only.

What impresses me is get this: The torque at 460 ft-lbs produces more than the 8100 vortec v8 did w/ 455 ft-lbs.

Granted, one is for HD service while the other for the light truck duty....so it's generally seen that the 1/2 ton tuning has a more specific torque output vs the HD units (IE, ford's 6.2 half ton is 411hp/434ft-lbs vs HD's 385/405, Ram's 5.7 395hp/410ft-lbs half-ton vs 383hp/400ft-lbs in HD models).

For now, it looks like when chevy/gmc revamps the 3/4-1ton trucks for 2015, the same engine line-up will be kept...6.0 360hp/380ft-lbs gas v8 and the durumax diesel.
