My home owners is up 22% from last year, I'm now paying over 600/year for coverage, is anyone else seeing sharp increases in insurance?

15% for me. Called the agent to complain and he said it was because of all the claims from hurricane Sandy, etc. Mine is still pretty low but the bigger percentage increase hacked me off.

Kinda bogus that they're hiking up our rates due to Sandy... I don't live in a hurricane prone area by choice.

I'm up 19% to $800+, not including my umbrella policy. I guess its time to go shopping.

Customer: why is must car insurance so high?
Agent: so many uninsured drivers.

What. The. Fuck.

Renewal time is always a good time to shop, mine stayed about the same as last year. 2 2012 cars, $200k house and $1mil umbrella policy for $1600/year. Seems pretty fair to me.

I've been very happy with Peter Filber from Allstate (in Menomonee Falls). Easy to deal with and responds to emails/calls quickly. Even over the weekend and "after hours" when I make vehicle/motorcycle changes.
