I need a welder that has a portable 230V/180Amp and some welding done. This is the leaf spring/torque boxes on my 65 Mustang. Basicly I am seam welding my torque boxes to prepare for the ass kicking the Cal Tracs are going to do to them. The car isn't movable.

I will pay very well.

I would think a 125amp or 140amp 110v welder would be more than enough for that job.

its got a few layers of 1/8 metal all spot welded together. I have a 110 but my welds are not good enough, I have been practicing all week but I am long ways from being confident in my welding skills to pull it off.

Are you attaching to the multiple layers or are you trying to weld the layers together
If the later,
They need to be plug welded then. You're not gonna burn thru 3 layers of 1/8" without weakening the area around it.

What welder do you have?
Flux or mig?
Wire size?

Just trying to help :)

Depending on where you live, I can do it on Tuesday after 4ish or Sunday (the 25th) afternoon.
Also, if your welder isn't going to cut it I can grab one from work or stop by and pick up my dads.
PM me if interested.

its more of a layer deal. I am looking to seam weld the mounts to torque boxes similar to what you would do in a fox body.
