I’m looking at a house for sale that has some wetlands. It has a few acres of cat tails in the back yard. The front yard is higher. Flooding is not a concern.

Anyway, the mosquitos were the worst I’ve ever seen. Not just bad… worst ever. I had about 5 mosquitos constantly landing on me while walking at 4mph. I probably got 3 bites in 2 minutes wearing pants, swatting like crazy and constantly moving. :flipoff2:

The owner says having an company spray for mosquito’s will solve this. Has anyone had their yard sprayed? How much does it help? I think this yard is beyond bug zappers and deet.

what about using a fogger?

my inlaws live in a similar situation and they fog their land once, maybe twice a year and it keeps the mosquito pop. pretty low.

My parents have used them the last about 4 years, no complaints. They live on Delavan Lake with a small pond on their land and we haven't seen much for mosquitos in the yard.

I just bought a fogger at home depot, thought I'd try it out for a bon fire this weekend at the house. I'll let you know if it works out or not.

I forgot all about those propane foggers. I think that may be the solution combined with a pro coming in every few months.

Thanks guys!!

The one I bought is an electric. $60ish and $10 for the pint liquid. I also bought a 100 foot cord to cover my decent sized backyard.

I have a Mosquito Magnet, out here the mosquitos are pretty bad (we live across the street from Lac La Belle and have a lot of trees)... Does a pretty good job, but I'm on my 3rd tank of propane for the season (fired it up at the end of April/Beginning of May). It took my back yard from near useless (because of all the mosquitos) to somewhere that we can actually use (as long as the propane isn't empty, lol).

My dad lives on Okauchee lake and has one as well with no issues.

I can not explain how well this stuff works. When I lived in Madison I had a huge marsh/field behind our first house. The mosquito's were TERRIBLE. I used this stuff once a month and NEVER had issues again. I sprayed it on everything..side of the house, trees, grass, bushes, etc...

Just a follow up on the bug fogger I bought, it's a POS. Don't buy it. It was supposed to have a 10 foot fog pattern, but ended up being 10 inches. Returned that bitch! I think I'll try the Cutter spray next time.

Good thing you were able to return it. Not sure what cutter has in it but it works!
