You will have to take my word on my experience with tires, at 50yrs old I have worked in the field full time since my teens, early on and at no time have I ever been removed from it. I've done split rims at 2am on the freeway in downtown Milwaukee on a Friday night, done 52" grader tires in a muddy field in Sussex....I know just a "little" about tires over the years.
Trying to give away my money today I thought I would be a good dad and score my kid a tire, dismounted in my garage by myself her tire was scrap and she has no money. I wander into Mr P's knowing from past experience they sold used tires, had gotten them from Brown Deer rd before I hit the Layton store in Greenfeild.
ME: Hi I would like to buy a 15" used passenger tire, have a few options but I would like something in the 215/65 or 215/70 range, have other sizes I can use if you have none.
Mr P sales guru: What kind of car is it for?
Me: Uhhm its a Buick but honestly I just need a medium contour 15" passenger tire I honestly dont care, she has an array of sizes on her car.
Mr P genius: Well it would realy help if we knew the make/model.
Me: Listen the car came with 215/65R15's on steel rims, its a 1996 Buick LeSabre, had they been aluminum they would be a different size 16" tire, do you have any 215/65r15 tires?
Mr P tire technician: Probably let me go see (aka have a smoke and tell the guys the ASE Master tech at counter trying to buy a tire knows nothing).
Several attempts at trying to get what possible 15" tire they had on hand proved futile, aparently this location stocks there tires by "Toyota" or "Chevy" not
P-metric tire sizes. I only bring this all up so should you decide to try and give your money to these guys the best thing I think you could try and do is say
it "for my trailer" or "Its a 1934 Bugati with a custom chassis". Something to get there mind off what color or make car you drive is my best guess?
Im gonna hit some other used tire joints to see if Obama has sucked the knowledge from all vendors or I stumbled on the stupidest guy in the world, I may
just be on some practical joke show, will all be funny when I see myself on TV trying not to beat some tard across the counter?
