I have a 2000 grand prix gt. 3.8 na v6. 163,xxx miles. Issues started when the fuel was run down to fumes. It did not die but probably had a splash of fuel in the tank. I filled up and about 2-3 miles away it dies. I restart and keep heading home. It starts to have surging issues. rpms will jump about 300-500 rpms and down 300-500 rpms. If I am not on the gas it dies. I have replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, plugs wires. The check engine light is not on but i am able to pull some codes. Bank 1 is lean and m a f sensor may be bad. Could this all be related or coincidental and how do I fix this. Thanks

What about the fuel regulator, little guy that's hooked up to a vacuum source ?

wOOPS, I forgot about that post. Car has been sitting since then. My bad and good catch.

How would I check those parts? or do I just replace them as I go?

Clean the maf and iac. It's easy and cheap and likely needed anyway.

Agree with boost just clean the two first before throwing parts at it

I would just as soon cut off my nuts before I get a toyota :flipoff2: Moving past that :goof I will probably do a little cleaning tomorow. I did pick up a regulator. I figured that needs to get replace anyways. Thanks for the help.....really? a toyota? come on now :goof

Pulled the throttle body off and cleaned it, pulled maf and iac and cleaned both. Same issue persisted. Replaced the iac and still there. Now it hesitates when I give it the gas. And only after it gets to normal operating temp. ideas?

Still sounds like a MAF problem - maybe it's bad?

You can unplug the MAF sensor and start the car and see if the problem is still there...

I just picked up a new maf sensor. Hopefully will have time tonight to take it for a drive and see if it's fixed.
