If I remember right these were planned to be competiton to the Superbirds. Don't remember the full story on them though.

It's ugly as hell...it's not 69 daytona, that's for sure.

Nope...I miss the days where stock car racing was the real-deal thing.....

I am not a fan of most Ford's but I actually kinda sorta almost like it. It's in really good shape for having 999,999 miles LOL. I know what a untouched Superbirds and Daytona's go for at auctions but what do you guys think this thing will sell for? I can't believe the starting bid is half a million. I think this one would be in the $250k range at auction.

Did not sell on Ebay of course. It's at the Mecum auction in Indy as he said in the ad. It goes across the auction block at 6:10 PM Saturday for anyone interested in seeing if it sells and for how much.

At this point, most daytona's go around 250-300K with a hemi, about half as much w/ a wedge. Superbirds, of which more were made and though radically different than road runners which they spawned from, are still less different than the Daytona is from the charger go about 150-180K for a Hemi, 125-135K for a six bbl (six-pack in the dodge vernacular), and 110-120K for a regular wedge. Many don't realize that while the two look approx the same, there are more than a few differences that are readily identifiable to those who know where to look b/w the two...but basically the superbird was more or less "thrown together" to get something for Petty et al to compete in, whereas the Daytona was a more engineered product with far more development time and thought put into it.

Mecum will also have a hemi daytona, so one will be able to get a sense of how this Torino KC measures up in value to the Daytona. Not going out on a limb to try to predict which will fetch the higher price....

Bid went to 350k and it did not sell at that number. This guy must want an astronomical price. I wonder if the 500k ebay starting bid was also the reserve?

I have only ever seen one of these in real life. I think there are only maybe three ever made?
