For those with O2 deletes....

Are you able to pass emissions with the rear O2 sensors deleted out of the PCM? I just passed emissions but put on an O/R X-pipe, but apparently my MIL eliminators aren't working as it threw a code. Will deleting the rear O2's with a programmer allow it to pass emissions in a couple years when its time, or will it show the rear O2 sensors as "not ready" and fail?

Typically yes you can pass....

However it does depend on the car and the software being used to tune. For example Diablo for a lot of DCX vehicles will disable the code however will not set readiness.

Last note, unless it has changed recently you are allowed one system not ready (but no more).

I believe it is year dependant - i think you are allowed more missing readiness indicators on older years...

I have a SCT on my F150. It has 3 downloaded custom tunes from more power tuning and it passed on the custom tunes with rear o2 deleted.

Basically a stock 96 Cobra. Only mods are O/R X-pipe, Flowmaster 40 catback, Short throw and a heavier clutch. 4.10's to come this week!

Yeah, I'm not sure how I feel about the O/R X pipe yet...it can get a little "tinny" around 3000 rpms, but it sounds fantastic otherwise. We will see in the coming weeks if it starts to annoy me.

Were any of his other emissions systems disabled? Like Tom said, they only allow 1 incomplete/not ready system 00 and up

No, just the O2 in the rear were turned off for Dyno tuning, they told him flat out cause they were shut off is why he failed

Strange, I wonder if he ran into some uptight emissions shop or something? Is this with the new emissions testing or back when it was at the emissions tests facilities? Looking at my test report from last week it just shows if systems are Ready or N/A
