Someone I know is looking to get a tattoo. Nothing extravagant just something in remembrance of someone else.
Not to say there won't be more at a later time. I don't know anything about where or who is good.

Who is recommended? Clean, reputable. Registered? (don't know if that's an option)

I figure there are a bunch of people here who would know.

Thanks for your input.

I like and have scheduled to get a half sleeve done at Moving Shadow. They're located at 43rd and Oklahoma. They received Best Tattoo shop around Milwaukee for 2012 by WISN.

Got my last one by Jim Francis. He was at rockstar tattoo on hwy100. He's opening his own place at Milwaukee Harley. Very happy with mine and my wife had a few done by him. http://www.jimfrancistattoo.com/

He'll be doing my next one too.

EDIT*** opening his own place, not ending. Lol

I've gotten all my tattoos at Absolute Tattoo in Menomonee Falls. All of them have turned out really good and I plan on going back for the add-on I'm getting soon.

Will @ Starship in Greenfield did my last one, the two on my right arm (see avatar) and a third on my left were done by Heather Shinn, who works at Brew City Tattoo...ironic?

Heather shinn used to work at star ship. She is the reason I e waiting 10 years to get another tattoo, she completely butchered my elbow

I guess the decision is looking like "Waukesha Tattoo Company". Looks like they were 2nd in WISN A list and good reviews.

Don't ask for opinions, don't look at pictures. Look at the tattoos they did ten years ago and decide who to get ink by. I have five year old tattoos that look like shit now, but looked great when they were fresh. And I've got 15 year old tattoos that look three years old.

That said, I reccomend heather shinn, or Julio Avillia. Julio is at solid state tattoo in bay view.

She did my elbow 7 years ago, come take a look at it LOL. She not only rushed it but made it worse when I went back for touch up. Do NOT go to heather shinn

heather can be a pita as well...especially if u want something she thinks is beneath her.... but stuff that is 'her style' ive seen some awesome work.... really depends on what u want..i have a jungle scene from Eddie in the falls and a celtic cross from erin there as well. very happy with the both of them. That said i'd stay away from the owner...just not my style...

I found heather to be easy to deal with. Eddie in the falls did some shittty work on my arm, I mean its ok; well, the whole thing is the wrong color...
