Anybody know where I can find this style of quick disconnect plug locally? Northern Tool carries one that's $50.
Just wondering if I can get em cheaper.

I don't think you can reuse them. You crimp the ends on and stick them into the plastic housing. Only way to get them back out it to bust it open.

You should be able to remove the wires without damaging the plastic connector. Look closely at how the metal ends (crimped to the wires) are held in. You need to get in there with a very small flat screwdriver or tweezers but I'm thnking it's very possible.

Or, you could always cut the wires a few inches from the disconnect and splice onto whatever you need it for.......but I would try what he said first.

Grainger has plugs like this. It looks like they are sized by amperage and priced accordingly. Looks like a solder connection.

SBS battery service (http://www.yellowpages.com/milwaukee-wi/storage-battery-systems) maintains our fork truck batteries that have those style plugs. Maybe they could help.

I managed to reuse these. Put the wire in a vice and used a claw hammer to pry the wire out from the contact. Then I just drilled out where the wire goes into the contact to get rid of the 4 dimples the factory crimp makes. Stuck the wire in and re-crimped it.

This was for making a quick disconnect for a winch that was mounted on a trailer. The old winch took a shit and the new winch just had straight cable leads to the battery and a different control setup that I didn't want to mess with too much.

Thanks for the offer though fly!

I think they're called Anderson plugs. I have gotten some from NAPA for my trolling motor. Not sure what all amp sizes they carry.

I believe those are also common on forklift batteries, if that helps.
